I think you are going to get varying answers on this. For boys, I think TCP's shirts are smaller than Carters and Gap, but their pants are HUUUUUUGGGE.
I buy a lot of gymboree. They are usually in between gap and carters. I think gap is the biggest, you agree?
I think at the end of the day, it all comes down to how your baby is shaped, etc.
Happy shopping.

I've pretty much only bought shirts at TCP and I find that they run very small. My 18 month old wore 3T's this summer and she's got 4T shirts for this fall. She's a big girl, but, not fat (95th% for weight, 75th% for height).
I have never bought anything at Gymboree as I've never seen anything there that I like.
ETA - for other brands I've basically bought a size up, but, with TCP, I'm buying two sizes up. Right now, at 22 months, she's got some Carter's 24 months and some 3T's. It depends on the cut. According to the tags height and weight, she should be in 3T's in most brands.

I got itty bitty guys too - I just weighed them today, on their 1.25 birthday
Harry is 21lbs10oz, Alex is 22lb13oz. I don't think they were 18lbs at 9 months!
At 9 months, they were wearing 6-12 gymbo (shirts were big, onesies were ok) and 6-9 TCP. They were probably still in 3-6 pants and just sizing up to 9 months. Back then, I also did a lot of Target.
I'm in the midst of putting away their clothes, sorting etc. These two little boys have SO much!

I've always heard from girl mamas that their stuff is TINY. Obviously I wouldn't know.

Thanks guys! I'm bored with what Gap and ON have right now so I am planning on doing a little shopping this weekend and was thinking about going to those places. I just never know what size to buy when I am venturing into a new store
I buy a lot of onsies (not crazy about shirts, unless i put a onsie under it) and sweats or one piece outfits since he's in daycare during the week. I only buy one or two "nice" outfits for the weekends / outings.
I have found that TCP's cloths don't really fit DS. He tall and thin and there cloths fall right off him. He can still fit in a pair of 3-6 mth shorts that I bought him 2 summers ago. I also don't love the quality..So they are my last place him cloths..
I do do some gymboree and there stuff does fit DS better. I mainly shop though at Gap, Target, Old Navy, (some of the shirts are a little wide) and Kohles (I had never shopped there before my MIL started going..the Jumping Beans stuff is quite nice!

I don't really look at boy clothes, but, for girl clothes, I end up getting a lot of stuff at Target. I find that the prices are good, the quality is pretty decent, and the selection, again, at least for girls, is bountiful.

It sounds like my son is a bit smaller than your son percentage wise. He's now 18 months old and usually wears 12 month shirts from Children's Place, but can also wear 18 month shirts. He doesn't have any pants from there so I'm not sure about that. Judging just on the shirts it seems like they may be a little smaller than some of the other brands.
We also only own shirts from Gymboree, but I think they are shorter, but wider than other brands. He had a couple one piece outfits from there when he was younger and I thought those ran bigger than other brands.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

DS wears 6 mos in Carters and is just about ready to move to 9 mos. I just bought him a pair of jeans from TCP that are size 6-9 mos and they are big on him. Not terribly big, but they don't fit quite right. He also has 6-9 mos TCP stretchie jammies that fit perfectly right now, but he will outgrow them in another month or two. He doesn't have any shirts from TCP.
ETA: Saw your post about your DS's height and weight and he is exactly the same height and weight as my DS. HTH

I think their pants are really big, especially length wise. The shirts I feel run pretty true to size. PJs are pretty true to size as well.

I agree, Gap seems to run big. In Old Navy, my 9 month old boy wears 6-12 tops but right now is in 3-6 pants but could do the next size up.
He's a small guy - 18lbs and 27.5 inches tall - 7th% for weight, 20th for height.

I think for boys, TCP tops run small and bottoms run large.
I feel like Gymboree is fairly TTS.
I think both would run larger than Carter's. Gymboree feels similar to ON and Gap in sizing, I think.
Thanks guys! I'm bored with what Gap and ON have right now so I am planning on doing a little shopping this weekend and was thinking about going to those places. I just never know what size to buy when I am venturing into a new store

CHildrens Place jammies run really small! My guy is small and he has to wear a size up in their jammies.
I think that Gymboree runs small... or at least short. Once you wash they shrink quite a bit and seem to run small I think.
