If you've started purees...
How old was LO when you started?
What time(s) of day do you feed?
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate?
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones?
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal?
Thanks!
Re: Traditional Purees (Poll)
How old was LO when you started? almost 5 months
What time(s) of day do you feed? she gets fruit around 10 or 11 in the morning and veggie around 5 or 6 in the evening
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? about a week (it still depends on if she really really likes what I'm feeding her)
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? So far she has loved bananas and sweet potatoes. Didn't like applesauce which is strange and didn't like peas at first.
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? I make her food so if it is something that is a little too thick (sweet potatoes, peas) I add bm or formula to thin it out
How old was LO when you started? 5 months
What time(s) of day do you feed? Breakfast, lunch, dinner (approximately 7 a.m., noon, and 5:30 p.m.)
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? She's only really started opening her mouth wide to receive the food recently, but she's been interested (grabbing at it and getting most of it in her mouth lol) since almost the beginning.
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? I don't think there's been anything she hasn't liked. I'd say her favorites have been carrots and pears, but she's liked everything, including peas (which I hate!)
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? No, just water.
How old was LO when you started? He was about 3.5 months...
What time(s) of day do you feed? I feed him solids once in the late morning and once early evening...no particular set time each day.
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? Hahaha, he was eager from the get-go. He still loves trying the new foods (we're still on the 4-day rotation).
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? He has loved everything so far, with the exception of avocado. He loved carrots, peas, bananas, yams, zucchini, etc.
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? No formular or BM is added normally. He'll get a bottle before he eats the solids and if by chance the puree is a bit too thin we'll add a bit of rice cereal to try to thicken it up a bit.
How old was LO when you started? 5 months 2 weeks
What time(s) of day do you feed? Started just in the AM around 10 but now both AM and around 7 PM (he goes to bed between 8-8:30)
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? Pretty much right away!
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? He loves carrots and spinach and doesn't like sweet potato or avocado
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? Yes, I mix breastmilk into both purees and cereal
How old was LO when you started? 5 months
What time(s) of day do you feed? Morning around 8am
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? She gets excited but doesn't eat a lot yet.
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? Likes brown rice better than oatmeal. Still working on green veggies, so far likes peas quite a bit, and not a fan of avocados. Next is orange/yellow veggies, then fruits.
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? Dr. didn't want the food too runny. Cereal is "applesauce" consistency. If it is store bought food jars, I leave it as is, when I make my own in the future I'll add water or formula to get the right consistency. She does drink formula right after eating, too, since she doesn't eat that much.
What time(s) of day do you feed? Once a day around 10am.
How long did it take before LO really got into it and eagerly ate? It's been about a week on purees (the week before last he did cereal) and he's not really into it yet.
Does he/she have a 'favorite'? What is it? Do they dislike any particular ones? I thought it was applesauce, but then today he made the funniest "yuck mom that's TANGY!" faces while eating it.
Lastly, do you encorporate formula or breastmilk with the puree meal? I usually give him his bottle after a few minutes of purees. I'm hoping he'll start eating more so that the bottle can be saved for later.
