I've heard you can pick up a special kind of mattress or foam because it is not good for babies to sleep regularly on the hard surface of the PnP. Thoughts? Ideas? I'm trying to avoid purchasing a second crib for a few more months, until LO1 outgrows hers...and then I can let LO2 sleep in it.

Ditto all of this. If you really feel you need extra padding, get a quilted PNP sheet, just make sure it fits well.

Agreed! My LO regularly sleeps nights in her PNP. I have never heard about having to add anything to it. It's fine the way it is.
Same here...quilted sheet only.
I bought the mamadoo mattress, but it's simply too huge (tall) with the PnP bassinet, so we're using it for tummy time right now.
