Weird job vibes

I was essentially forced into telling one of my supervisors (I have several) that I am pregnant yesterday because she was pressuring me to come in to work over the weekend to make some stuff up. She was giving me a major guilt trip, so finally I told her "Well, I found out I'm pregnant and I have not been feeling well lately. Normally I would totally make up missed work, but I have been less than 100% lately so it would be difficult for me to come in." Ever since then, she has been acting weird towards me. Even her 'congratulations' was super fake. Time to invest in some lotto tickets and quit work forever! Confused

    A lot of bosses regard this as "bad news" because of the whole maternity leave and having to find someone to fill in for you.  But that's pretty selfish thinking.  Be careful to note down incidents if you feel like she's discriminating against you, that's illegal.

    Ugh..that's super frustrating.  Sorry you have to deal with that.  No matter how much progress we ladies have made for equality in the workplace, often times it's actually other women that are the worst offenders to women's rights!

    Keep in mind that if anything happens to your employment since you've told them and they terminate you it's discrimination and wrongful termination. Any lawyer would have a field day!!

    Since I told my boss last weekend, she's decided to only give me 1/4 of the hours I work per month. When I asked for a weekend off because my husband is out of town and I'm Exhausted, she told me that no one can fill in for me and that she never told me to get pregnant. This coming from a boss who also told me I should quit school. All I can say is that I'm currently job hunting.

    That really sucks. Bosses seem to be so selfish. They screw me over whenever they can so I'm not telling them until it starts to become obvious that I'm pregnant.
    Let them do the mad scramble to find a term employee to do my job. My office is seperate from the department and i only have to go to the department a couple of times a week. I think when i start to get bigger I am just going to go first thing in the morning when no one is there so people don't see me.
    Audrey is going to be a big sister!

    That's highly illegal. You should have a journal and record the date, time and the exact words she said and call human resources! She will have to be written up. If it's a small company that does not have an HR dept. then you can call the department of labor board and make a complaint! At this point she is unable to fire you without putting herself and the company in legal turmoil.
