Will it ever go away?

I had a pretty rough delivery. I had an episiotomy that ripped into a 4th degree tear and ended up with a few hemorrhoids. While I was in the hospital, they were giving me 2 percocet and 1 Ibuprofen every 6 hours. My prescription they gave me for after I leave the hospital is only 1 percocet every 4 hours. This is not enough for me. I've still been taking the Ibuprofen as well, but I'm in so much pain. No one at the hospital really told me how to treat my hemorrhoids or if they would ever even go away. One nurse even told me that I didn't have any, when the nurse the night after said I clearly did. I have witch hazel pads, but that's about it. Are we allowed to use Preparation H while we're breastfeeding? Has anyone found a miracle cure for these hemorrhoids? They hurt worse than my tear! :( Do they ever go away or are they permanent? Please help!!!!

    The post partum sheet I got from my OB today said I could use warm sitz bath (I think you can get this from CVS or Target), keep stools soft, drink lots of fluids. If needed, it says you can use an over-the-counter rectal suppository for pain and discomfort (follow th edirections on the package). It also says you can use Tucks pads (keep in the fridge) to provide relief.

    Yes you can use preparation H, use this and tuck pads every time you go to the restroom.  Also, frequent sitz baths

    Some people's hemorrhoids go away, others need surgery to treat it..I am one thats will need surgery, however, mine have been around for a long time

    ask your doctor for a Rx strength steroid cream for your roids.  You need one.

    in the meantime, Anusol plus is better than Preparation H.  it has a mild anaesthetic.

    Thank you for all of the advice & suggestions ladies! I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and search for some relief!
