NC or SC Vacation help?

We're thinking of taking a vacation next week (like the 14th), for a week and are thinking NC or SC. We want warm weather and a beach/pool. H suggested Hilton Head.

I've never really been anywhere down there - where should we go? (It'll just be H and I and DS)...

    Charleston is fabulous. I would stay on Kiawah or Seabrook. We stayed on Seabrook. Amazing! You can do beach and the city. We used vrbo.com to find a house/condo. The nice thing about those places is that is the beach is private to the island so it isn't hugely crowded.

    We always vacation at Wrightsville Beach, NC. It's where Dear John (the book...not the movie, boo!) was set. It is beautiful, peaceful, and has awesome, clean, uncrowded beaches. Plus the local restaurants can't be beat!

    I've been to Myrtle Beach, Ocean Isle Beach (NC), and Holden Beach (NC- one beach north of OIB).  Of the 3, I like OIB the best.  It's ~45 minutes from Myrtle, has a lot of charm and is affordable.  If you're looking for touristy, go to Myrtle or Hilton Head. 

    All that being said, after seeing some reviews of Kiawah Island, I must say that it's on my future beach list.
