best nursing bra for larger chest

Hi Ladies,

I am in need of some help finding a better nursing bra. I am a 34G (measured professionally) but the bra i bough is super ugly & i feel like it pushes my boobs outward & looks kind of cone-y which is totally not flattering.

I am looking for something supportive that keeps my chest in line with the rest of my body. Typically I wear wachol and chantelle bras. I have an Elila bra from Lady Grace which I hate & some sports bra's from Motherhood that dont fit very well either.

Lastly, any recommendations on  the underwire vs. wirefree? I have good supply & have been nursing for 4 weeks now.

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

Re: best nursing bra for larger chest

  • I spent so money trying different bras, and finally found and fell in love with the Seamless Clip Down Nursing Bra from A Pea in the Pod.  I now own five.  I've fluctuated between a 40DD and a 38D, and wear a large.  My sister is a 32 DDD and wears a medium.

  • Hey, I know how you feel!  I was a 32GG before getting pregnant and now at 6 months pregnant my cup size has grown a lot.  I'm wearing a Fantasie bra and it seems to be the best brand that fits me and is comfortable.  It's a line under Fantasie called Elomi.  I say try them and see how you like it.

With the size that you are talking about it's hard to find a bra that puts the girls front and center.  My bra doesn't put them as front and center as I'd like but more east and west...but again, at these sizes there is only so much you can do.  I love underwire bras because of the support that give me.

I recommend Fantasie to anyone who has a larger size than you can find in stores.

  • I'm a 34H....  And yeah, the larger nursing bras out there are not pretty.  I went to a specialty bra shop, and for an extra $15 they convert any bra you like into a nursing bra.  Best money ever spent.  The bra makes the girls look good, is nice looking, and functional too.  I'd definitely recommend looking into that.

Oh - and in my experience - you need the underwire; I've never found a bra w/o underwire that looks nice.  Yeah, "they" say that the underwire can cause issues with plugged ducts and such (because of the wire digging in) but I've nursed 2 LOs in an underwire nursing bra and have not had any issues.
