Wow! Maternity jeans!

They're like... pajamas!

So, I took advantage of the Gap 30% off sale, and scored me some of those boot-cut jeans I'd seen many women rave about.  I figured I'd have them around for that day when, BAM, I can't put on any pants (and $24 off regular price was a deal!).  They came today, and I now understand why people love them.  They are SO comfortable, and they're really cute!  I wish they were a little shorter (I'm kind of between ankle & regular there), but yeah.  I can tell already that I am going to live in these jeans.  Now if only I could convince my boss that it's ok for pregnant women to wear jeans to work...

Re: Wow! Maternity jeans!

  • LOL. I bought some yesterday and I am wearing them right now. My regular work pants still button, but for some reason my regular jeans don't.

I haven't even gained a pound yet, but these pants are SO comfortable and you can't tell they're maternity! I told DH that they are going to be my Thanksgiving jeans forever.

  • Nice score on the jeans!

I love maternity pants.  I still can fit into my regular pants, but maternity pants are just so much more comfortable with all this bloat!

  • I got the same ones! At Goodwill of course. I am not above second hand shopping for clothes I'll only wear for a few months, lol. They actually look really cute. With a long enough shirt, it just looks like you're wearing a great fitting pair of regular jeans. Goodwill had a TON of maternity stuff which makes sense I guess....women wear their stuff for a few months and then have no use for it anymore. All I know is I got 3 pairs of pretty much new jeans for $12. Love.

That last part totally reminds me of that episode of friends with Phoebe's maternity pants... lol.

I haven't gained a pound yet either, but dang, my regular pants are uncomfortably tight!

  • Oh thank god! ?SIL gave me a pair of maternity jeans last weekend, and I thought I was nuts for wearing them already. ?Why don't ALL jeans have elastic waists?

They should.  I'll be honest though.  I haven't actually worn the jeans, I just tried them on.  I spent the entire day in my pajamas.  Luckily, I had evening dog-walking duty and could wait until it was dark enough to not have to change out of my pjs...  Haha!

  • I impulse-bought my first pair of maternity jeans yesterday ($7 on the sale rack at Target!) and tried to wear them, but I can't figure out how they're supposed to stay up! They're the overbelly type, so maybe when I actually have a belly they will have something to hold them up, but for now I had to keep hitching them up every 5 minutes.

but yes, they ARE like pajamas :) I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I own a pair of As-Seen-On-TV Pajama Jeans, and I work them to work on Friday - ha :)

  • I will have to check those out.  I have to do the rubberband trick on one pair and had to go up a size so I could button them.  I have lost 3 lbs and everything is getting too tight.  I had to wear a belly band with a pair of shorts yesterday b/c they wouldn't zip...I bought them a month ago and they were loose.

they should fit you like your normal pants everywhere else.  the belly part shouldnt have to hold them up.  you might need to go down a size.

also, OP...check out the GAPs  boot cut slacks.  they are just as awesome as the jeans.  i lived in them at work for my first pregnancy.  had three pair and just rotated.  i am also in between  regular length and petite.  i ended up going with regular length because i wore them with work shoes/heels so the length ended up perfect.

  • Thank you for posting this. I am 8.5 weeks and really miserable over the fact that I am already in maternity pants and basically outfatted every single pair of jeans, and all but two pairs of pants.  It just felt like way to early, especially because I am not a super small girl to begin with.  But anything beats being uncomfy, so yeah, I stocked up at that Gap sale and picked up a lot of larger tops and sweaters at Marshalls.
