First of all, I by NO means am trying to offend anyone. I've never heard anyone mention losing their husband in any of the GTKY's, so I'm terribly sorry if anyone has actually lost their husband.
What I'm referring to is the fact that, yet again, I'm eating dinner alone, because I am a band widow. Yeah, like high school marching band (super cool, I know). Are you a widow? Football, baseball, hunting, fishing, fantasy league?
Re: What type of widow are you?
I am a:
- work widow
- Fantasy Football widow
- deer hunting widow
Thankfully the FF is only on Monday nights and Sundays (and an odd Thursday here and there). Deer hunting is only a few weeks out of the fall. Work is all the time though. BOO!
I'm so sorry! That's not even seasonal!

fantasy football
hence the Spring baby being SUPER planned around football :-)
My first was due on Jan 25th. She was born ON Super Bowl Sunday! I laughed my ass off about that one.
With #2 I went in to be induced the night that the Packers played the Vikings in Green Bay with Brett Favre. I laughed my ass off about that one too. Turns out I didn't start getting induced until the next day since they didn't need to do any cervical ripening, so DH was less than thrilled about watching that game in the hospital room on the crappy TV. But at least he still got to watch the game!
DH is a high school volleyball and basketball coach. Don't see him much between Sept-Feb.

It used to be football, until I started getting into it myself a few years back (Geaux Saints!). But yeah, he is pretty fanatical, and is VERY happy this baby will not be born in the fall....
I hate to say that your comment literally made me laugh out loud. Again, so sorry!

ME TOO! What's your DH's game of choice? H's is Call of Duty. He wears the headset and everything. If I am out of town for some reason, it is not unheard of for DH to pack up our living room TV and his Xbox and take it to his buddy's house and play all night in his basement! I'm embarrassed for him! lol
It got bad last night! I was crying and begging him to go to walmart last night to get something for my stomach, and he says... "Yeah, after I finish this mission..." 1 mission turns to 2 turns to 3, then he comes in the room and says hes too tired to go out. P'ed me off!
BTW I love your "the wets" quote! haha!
Band widow here, too. DH is a percussion instructor, so he teaches the drumlines at 3 area high schools. I'll see him again mid-November if no one makes the playoffs!

That's crazy! MH is a percussion instructor as well! Unfortunately, after marching band ends, he regularly has an indoor marching percussion group. We're holding our breath, since World Finals are 2 weeks after my due date! Small world!

I am a golf and tax season widow.
I'm a car widow... DH has a car that's a "garage queen". It's his hobby and maybe drives the thing once a month, but there is always something he is buying/fixing/upgrading on it. UPS and FedEx know us because he always gets packages of parts delivered.
Lol I was wondering when I read the title.
I am a football/basketball widow. Not that he goes to games frequently, but he will watch them all night long. I will go up to bed most nights by myself and he will come up an hour or so later. Sometimes it bothers me, other times it doesn't.
DH does the same thing all the time. SO ANNOYING!!!! (just not over xbox)
I'm a football widow.
And a PS3 widow.
And a sleeping widow (my husband works nights so by the time I get home from work he's asleep until it's time for him to get up for work and I go to sleep).
Like two ships passing in the night, we are.
I'm a work/football/wrestling/gym widow.
It sucks.

It was the whole reason I made sure we had an office in the house we bought - I know where he is all the time!
Smaller world!!! DH used to do the percussion instructor thing, for 3 years, 15 different schools. Now, he's a middle school band director that also works with the local high school. He's at a 6th grade concert right now (I NEVER go to that one...too painful!!) Then I lose him in the afternoons, Friday nights, and some Saturdays. Our high school has already qualified for the playoffs...so we lose!!!
I'm as big, if not bigger, a football fan and fantasy football freak, so the weekends are definitely shared watching together. Though, we root for different NFL teams.
Wow! I agree with the football fan part. My family always said that if you die during the season, you're going to be kept in the freezer until after the super bowl! DH used to root for the Cowboys, but my family and I converted him from a closet Steelers fan to a full-blown have-to-be-home-for-the-game Steelers fan. And I understand you avoiding the 6th grade concert. I teach 5th grade band and just started 36 5th grade flute and clarinet players yesterday. 6th grade sounds GOOD to my ears! I'm surprised they're already having a concert. You must start school really early compared to us.

Too funny. DH runs his own indoor line after marching season, too! It's his own startup/non-profit, so they're only exhibition so far, no competitions. He keeps hoping to expand to TCGC, but I keep my fingers crossed it doesn't happen. I'm evil!
