My OB asked me about it at my appt yesterday. We used a 24 year old donor, but he say's it's still my choice to have the test or not. He also said that they will most likely do a 80-90% guess at the gender of the baby.
If you had this done, did your tech tell you the gender?
Where they right?
I am just curious about this, it just seems too early to know.
Thanks!
Re: If you did a NT scan....
Because we're fancy like that.
We did not get a gender guess. However, for my 2nd baby, we did get a photo that showed the "nub" and I found an online website that helped me guess the gender based on the "angle of the dangle.' It predicted a boy and was right!
I definitely recommend the NT scan, if not for medical reasons, just because I think it's really the best ultrasound you get. You can see the whole baby at once and it's very cool.

They need to be done 11-13 weeks, so I agree, too early to reliably determine gender.
(also, check with your insurance how they're covered. They can be VERY pricey, esp if you do the blood screens and genetic counseling. so if you're on the fence, that might factor in)
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.
