She's starting the terrible 2's early! Uhhgg... I recall vividly not understanding what people meant by the phrase. Abby went through what I would call a change or developmental difficulty during this time but it was never terrible. I'm pretty sure the way Emily has been acting the last 2 days is why people call this stage "The Terrible 2's". And if this ain't it yet, I'm NOT looking forward to the next year.
I guess I have to read all those positive discipline books m_and_m has loaned me... and "Your Two Year Old" or whatever.
Right now I'm content that she's locked herself in the pantry and isn't screaming bloody murder. I assume by the sounds she's removing everything from the recycling bin. But she's not hitting/biting Abby, screaming, throwing food or throwing herself on the floor. So we'll call destroying the walk in pantry a win.
Re: Emily is so advanced for her age!
Eh, there are snacks in there and plenty of space to play around. Just throw her blanket in with her and call it a day.
Sorry she's testing you. I hope your day isn't totally full of tantrums or the terrible pre-2's.
Yay, Emily! What a smart girl
But seriously ... good luck with that one. I'm afraid for ... well, the next 18 or so years with mine. Yesterday she threw what looked like a swear-to-God real fit. On the ground, arched back, kicking and screaming. And she's only 9 months old.
"They" say you get back 3X what you dished out with girls. So, here's hoping you were an easy child!
I've heard it starts as early as 16-18 months, which was the case for us.
If I can offer any hope, K2 is now ~30 months and it's getting better now. Slightly.
