So we're in the transition phase, where DH is scrambling to use up the last of his disposables diapers before he has no choice but to use the CD's.
So far, we have only had one leak, and it's due to the cloth being outside of the gusset on the cover. We have had a lot more leaks with disposables.
Cleaning is going fine, and while the weather is still warm and sunny, I line dry the prefolds outside.
My mom decided to buy me 6 Fuzzibunz diapers, and I AM EXCITED. Though I fear I won't be able to use Tide Free and Clear like I have with the prefolds...off to do some research.
Re: CDing Moms - How's it going?
My LO is still too small for the CDs that I have.
I'm hoping we can start using them in the next couple of weeks because she is growing like a little weed!
Glad to hear it is going well for you. My SO was pretty bummed that we're still having to use disposables (he's cheap) so I guess I'm lucky!
Going great here, but this is our second time so I didn't expect any problems
We used disposables for the first week since we came home with a bunch from the hospital, and we were so ready to start using cloth!
I can't wait until DD is big enough for her BG's though, those things are bulletproof. Her legs are so dang skinny it's hard to get the covers over her KL0's tight enough and we've had a few leaks around the legs.
Oooh I would be super excited about those Fuzzibunz too!
Its going good for us too. I am amazed that I actually really like using our pf's & covers over our AIO's. I tend to keep the AIO's for going out now! I have had a couple of leaks & a big blowout. The blowout was in a Diaper Rite pf but I don't think I had prepped it enough!
Major confession time - DH has not changed one diaper & our LO just turned 3 weeks old!!!! He keeps using the pf's as an excuse - they are too arkward, he can't fold, scared of the Snappis/pin etc. My next investment will be a couple of Grovia Hybrids with snap in soakers & then there will be no excuse!
I have to say though I am really enjoying cd-ing & I am just a little obsessed!

1/22 - Waterfront 5K: 20:54 (6:43 pace) PR!
That's not cheating, you're just not getting the full experience!
At least you chose to use cloth.
I'm sure you have done demonstrations for him! I also fold the prefolds so it's a quick change out. I haven't used snappis yet, since I lay the prefold in the cover and so far it has worked. I am actually using premie GMD prefolds on my almost 10 lb boy, but his butt is so small, it's hard to use the next size up without being too bulky on him.
We're doing well! We have 2 fuzzibunz, 1 NB size Grovia, 1 BG XS, 3 KL's and then prefolds and covers. The BG, KL's and covers are all on loan, which I'm fine with. We've definitely had some leaks because her little legs are just SO DARNED SKINNY, but it hasn't been that bad. I'm loving the CD's, and DH is doing great with them too.
By the way, OP, I am using Charlie's All Natural Soap for all the CD's. It's really nice - I've actually started using it on all our laundry.
All is well over here too! I am loving CD's. We are using a few different brands of OS pocket diapers. It's so much easier than I thought!! We are going on week 2 of using them because Piper was sooo small when she was born. We had to use disposables, but I hear that is common with CD's, especially the OS.
I have done 2 loads of CD laundry and no smelly diapers! I am pretty amazed that on my first try with my HE front loader it worked. I am NOT going to mess with my system until an issue arises. Yay!!
We have plenty of CD's, but I really really want to buy some more. {I see how it gets addicting!!} I don't have any fun girl colors since we were Team Green when I was buying. Maybe I can convince DH to let me get her a couple of pink dipes. A girl needs some pink in her life, right?!
Fuzzibunz lists Tide Free and Clear as acceptable detergent, so I will continue to use it.
