Amazon Baby Registry

Have any of you registered there? I think it would be great, especially because of the prices and selection, but this morning I started to wonder about how returns would work. Just wondering if it makes things more complicated. Thanks in advance!

Re: Amazon Baby Registry

  • I have registered there as well as BBB. A lot of stuff is more reasonably priced through Amazon than at BBB, like Britax car seats. Plus, we're planning on cloth diapering, and none of the big box retailers carry much in the way of CDing. I did not duplicate items between registries.

There may be a few returns, but I'm guessing they'll work like returning anything else to Amazon - there is a small shipping fee back to Amazon, or if it's a 3rd party retailer you are at the mercy of their policy. But, I do trust Amazon's registry to "work" - I've never had or heard of anyone having issues with their wish list functionality, and the baby registry is just a glorified wish list!

    2 IVFs, 2 FETs = 1 BFN, 1 c/p, 1 ectopic and finally a sticky BFP in May 2011!

  • I have a registry on amazon because I buy from them all the time and have never had any issues. You do have to pay to return an item if you're returning it simply because you do not want it, but I have never had a problem with returning anything to them. I love amazon!

  • I don't have experience personally with amazon registries, but do have friends tha registered there.  Have you considered diapers.com?  Free shipping and returns.

  • I'm using it as my second registry (like pp said - no duplicate items from my in-store registry @ BBB).  I'd like to CD but I'm not sure if I'll register for diapers or not.  But I like the option to include CDs.

I love the universal registry because I was able to add a few things from Land of Nod without registering at Land of Nod.

It could get a little OOC if you registered for one thing at a lot of different stores, so I'm trying to keep it to mostly stuff from amazon.com directly.

  • Ditto for the universal registry feature!  I've put lots of things from all over the web on my amazon registry.  I'm also registered at BRU (no BBB nearby) because I know some of family will prefer to shop in a store, but the prices are much better on Amazon.  And I'm not putting duplicates.

  • Thank ladies! I love Amazon and have ordered lots from them, but oddly enough never had to return anything. Like you ladies, I'd plan registering for thing at one place or the other - so hopefully no duplicates. I think what's worrying me, is if I have to return a bigger item. I'd hate for the return shipping to break our bank.

Most people I know have registered at Babies R Us and/or Target. I was thinking about BBB in addition to Amazon. I wasn't aware that diapers.com did registries.

  • I am doing Amazon and Wal-Mart. I absolutely love Amazon and the selection on there is fantastic, not to mention the ease of using that site. Love it!

I'm doing Wal-Mart for my husband's family (and because Target's registry annoys the crap out of me) because they don't have a Target near them. Using Wal-Mart also gives a physical location as well.

  • I'm doing the Amazon Baby Registry and BRU.  I <3 that the Amazon Registry has the Universal Registry Button and that folks can mark an item as "reserved" on the registry, even if they buy it elsewhere - *love* that feature!  I've noticed that Amazon says on their site that anything purchased through the registry has free returns for up to one year - I haven't looked into the details yet and I think it might actually be anything purchased through the Amazon Baby Store has that feature.

  • We registered there for our wedding and honestly almost no one ordered off it.  I don't know if our guests were just a bunch of slackers, but we got a lot more off our target registry.  We did return one item from them and it was pretty easy, but also a pain to wait for them to get it and then wait for the new item.

  • Baby has a wishlist. I am not sure if that is the same thing as a registry. Both my other kids do and I have one too and it has worked really well so far.

Yeah, that is one of my favorite features.

We are also registering at BRU and Amazon. I love Amazon and their customer service has always been great, so I expect the same from their baby registry.

  • With Amazon Baby Shop they advertise that you can make free returns and exchanges for things from your registry (of course there are always exceptions ). We are going this route as well because we live in a different state than most our friends and family :)

Here is the link where it talks abou tthere returns......https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=ms_sbrspot_3?ie=UTF8&docId=1000510981&pf_rd_p=1317611562&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=165796011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0FQW8BZ1W0AZV7WQKHEY
