A friend had her fourth baby on the 7th, Malachi Daniel. Older sisters and brother are Athena Claire, Lila Evangeline, & Simon Asher (goes by Sam, it's the first letter of his first, middle, & last names). Thoughts?

Malachi is the name of the evil child in Children of the Corn, so that's my first thought on that name.

Athena should really only be used by Greeks, and the other two names are fine, although I don't understand why one would name their child Simon but call him Sam. If you want to call him Sam, name him Sam.

I cannot see or hear the name Malachi without thinking Children of the Corn, so it will always be a terrible and evil name to me.

I've never even seen Children of the Corn, and Malachi still makes me think of an EVIL, EVIL child. It's definitely not a name I'd use.

I had a friend who almost named her son Malachi, but her mom disliked it so much she forced her to watch Children of the Corn. Thanks a lot "mom" now there is a 439862349667th Aiden in the world ::sigh::

I personally have not seen Children of the Corn and maybe if I did, my thoughts would change, but I really like the name Malachi.

I like the name Malachi it's kinda cute.. it does make me think of that evil kid from children of the corn..

but it's also the name of a character on Republic of Doyle Although he pronounces it Mala-key.. which might be some sort of wierd NFLD thing

Daniel Malachi sounds better to me. My neighbor's stupid dog was named Malachi so I can't get that visual out of my head either.

I think it's a nice biblical name. I made the conscious decision to not watch "Children of the Corn" (or any of the myraid of sequels), though.

I kinda like the name Malachi and I think it goes okay with the mn Daniel. I don't know that I would use it myself, but it is okay.

I like all those names, especially Malachi. I haven't been able to sell DH on Malachi for this LO, unfortunately. I like to think that more people are familiar with the Bible than with Children of the Corn, and certainly will be for most of my son's lifetime, but maybe I'm wrong.

Malachi was my MOST favourite name before I was pregnant. For years I thought I would have a boy and name him Malachi, even had a middle name picked out to go with it.... but like all the PP's, my husband couldn't deal with the relation to children of the corn. Oh well... we had a girl anyways!
