Re: c/p: emergency c-section? planned c-section? etc..

  • I had an unplanned c/s with DD - induced with prostaglandin gel, had a rough early labor, DD's heartrate went crazy the moment I was admitted to L&D and when I was wheeled into the OR, DH had no idea if he'd be able to be with me in surgery or not (fortunately she stabilized enough that I didn't need general anesthesia).  I have the option of trying for a VBAC this time but I am leaning toward another c/s because I had a pretty easy recovery the first time.

  • I had a scheduled c-section for breech baby at 38 weeks 6 days.  I will very likely have a repeat c-section with future children.  I had a great experience.

  • My 1st was an emergency csection. The second I was planning for a VBAC but the doc decided that he needed to come at 36 weeks. So instead of chancing another emergency csection I opted to just go ahead and have the csection done instead of trying for a VBAC.

  • My c/s was unplanned, but I don't really consider it an emergency c-section.  I had a VBAC with #2.

  • Not emergency, but unplanned, and will have a repeat c-section.

  • Hi! I had an emerg c/s after 21 hrs of labor. Because it was such a scary experience, I'm thinking about going with my OB's suggestion of scheduling c/s's in the future, but I'm still undecided. I don't think I'll know for sure until I see how my next pregnancy goes.
