Bad update :(

Last night I started noticing that I was leaking small amounts of fluid so when my Dr came in early this morning and I told her about it she immediately got a sample and looked at my cervix. Unfortunately she could see the baby's sac bulging out and I am about 2 cm dilated. I got my first shot of steroids this morning and will get the second tomorrow morning. She hopes that as long as things continue to progress slowly I can get a couple more weeks out of bed rest.

The good news is it's not amniotic fluid so I don't have a rupture, it's just fluid from around the sac. I will have my u/s today instead of tomorrow to double check everything.

Just when I was starting to feel better about all this I feel like everything is crashing down. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be in this position and I am just so sad. I will update later if anything changes after my u/s.

It is very scary...but modern medicine is amazing!! my nephew was only 25 weeks gestation 1 lb 10 oz when he was born and he is now a healthy 13 year old boy:) Keep a positive mindset and know that miracles do happen everyday!!

I have friends who had their quads (yes quads) at about 24 weeks! Miracles do happen!
