Boy #2 name opinions and suggestions?

I'm stumped...I seem to have a decent name list but nothing that I absolutely adore. DS is Elliott Thomas (this was my husbands name pick, I wanted Lawson "Law" but now I love his name). The only name we agree on is Zachary, MN would probably be Edward or John (family names). Our last name sounds similar to Warlock. My list: Lawson (again), Rhys, Reid, Rowan, Cullen, Lincoln, Tate. My husbands list: Wyatt, Cole, Luke ( we have friends that have kids with all of these names, granted we have moved and don't see them as much but it still seems weird to me). I want a name that is not too off the wall but not particularly common either. Opinions? Suggestions? *sorry, bumping from my iPad*

Re: Boy #2 name opinions and suggestions?

  • My favorites from your list are Reid and Luke. I strongly dislike Tate, Lincoln and Cullen. The others are fine, just not my preference.

Suggestions: Jude, Liam, Oliver, Desmond, Dexter, Caleb, Ethan, Flynn, Paul

  • Not a fan of Lawson at all.

I really Like Rhys and Wyatt. Rowan is nice but I know a lot of people are using it for girls now :/

  • Thanks ladies! I also forgot the name Ian. I like this name as well but get a stoic reaction from DH. In all likelihood we will probably go with Zachary. I just worry that it will get shortened to Zach/Zack and I am unsure about the -ck ending when our last name ends with -ck. Do you all think it flows ok?
  • You can't control what kids call your son.  My MIL doesn't do nicknames.  DH is always Daniel and his sister is always Elizabeth, even though pretty much everyone else calls them Dan and Liz/Lizzie.  You can call him Zachary, and if he dislikes nicknames, too, he'll have to learn to say "Please don't call me Zack."

I learned to ask people not to call me Gia, G, and Gigi, it works, but it takes time.

Ian is a fantastic name, but I like Elliot and Zachary better.

  • I've never been a fan of Zachary. Actually...Zachary is just okay for me but I really don't like Zach (I just always picture that Saved by the Bell guy...). There's nothing wrong with the name. It just seems boring compared to others you listed.

I love Reid. If it wasn't the company name of DH's employer it would so be #1 for us. I also really love Tate (but DH threatened to nn him Tater:S). I don't like Lawson but do love Dawson. I also like Luke/Lucas a lot. Otherwise the others I'm not a big fan of.

Suggestions: Dawson (like said), Dalton, Rogan, Wiley

"Zach Warlock" (I know that's not your real ln) sounds pretty awesome, IMO.  He could practically be an action hero.  Just as long as the names don't rhyme and your last name is two syllables.  If one syllable would really depend on the specific name.  "Zach Rock" might be a little abrupt.  But still not horrible.
