1st Trimester

never had morning sickness?

hey! Just wondering if anyone else never had any morning sickness in their 1st trimester...I'm 11.5 weeks now & feel crazy for feeling wrong! Like I want the reassurance like so many others who feel sick during these first months...ive even gone as far as taking a couple tests again to see I'm really prego! I had an us last week & baby is right on track <3 my Ob said its rare to lack symptoms so I should feel lucky. Its just thats this is my 1st pregnancy & I have so many questions. *sigh* end rant! :-)

  • I'm 6 weeks now, and I haven't really had any symptoms yet either.  I feel tired and irritable, but that's about it.  I still pinch my boobs to see if they hurt!  I know what you mean about worrying though.  My lack of symptoms often have me wondering if this is a normal pregnancy!  Just count your blessings since you're almost out of the 1st trimester I guess.  Good luck!

  • this is my third pregnancy and the only one that I have had morning sickness. I had nothing with my boys. I have only been sick once, but quickly found out that if i leave my stomach empty or too full, it triggers it so i have been able to work it out

  • I'm not as far along as you, but I haven't really had any symptoms yet. I'm just tired all the time, but I've always been like this (I'm always overwhelmed and overworked). No real sickness for me. I think some people just get lucky.

  • I had no m/s with my first two but have felt sick on and off with this one.  I understand how you feel -- a lot of comments are made about how m/s is a sign of a healthy pg so those of us who don't have it (especially first time moms) feel very worried, like something is wrong.  It was frustrating during my first pg hearing I should just be lucky when for someone who didn't have m/s, it was hard hearing statements that it meant a healthy pg but you didn't have it so it was very unsettling.  But rest assured, it doesn't have anything to do with the health of your pg.  I have two very healthy little girls and had no symptoms during the first tri (other than moodiness and implantation spotting).  M/s is just a reaction of each persons body to the different levels of hormones and every pg will be different.

  • I felt amazing for 9 months my last pregnancy. I didn't get nauseous at all the entire time. No headaches despite having them all the time before PG. Really, I just peed a lot, was really thirsty, & my deodorant stopped working. Sore boobs for a little while too. I had a healthy little man :)

I wasted a lot of time worrying about my lack of symptoms until I realized there was nothing I could do about whatever could be wrong anyway. My Dr reassured me every visit & I had u/s to prove to myself that a baby was there. When he got bigger, I had the reassurance of kicks, rolls, hiccups, etc. Just consider yourself very lucky to sail through pregnancy!

  • I had heard that many woman get away without any m/s symptoms, it just depends on how the body handles the HCG hormone. Some women are able to handle it, which is good.

Be blessed, because I finally had to get Zolfran to function from the m/s.

  • I'm 18 weeks now and have had absolutely no morning sickness... other than being tired in the first trimester, I've felt pretty normal... Be thankful, we are the lucky ones!

  • I had my baby a week ago and I had NO pregnancy symptoms. I was blessed and very happy I didn't have to go through the horror I heard some women complaining about. Count your blessing girl!!

  • No m/s here either! I completely understand why you might be worried, because I feel the same.  It is easy for someone with classic symptoms to say, "don't worry" because they have a constant (if unpleasant) reminder of their pregnancies.  If I didn't miss my period (which was always on time) that caused me to take a pregnancy test, I never would have known I was pregnant.  I've only experienced some cramping, exhaustion, and an occasional stuffy nose. I logically know it is OK to not have m/s, but my irrational side worries. I'm a FTM too, so I'm sure that isn't helping!!

Hopefully I'll deliver a healthy baby to hold in my arms.....and then I'll be thanking my lucky stars for no m/s!!! :D

  • I haven't had any morning sickness at all and pretty much no nausea. I haven't really had food aversions either, I didn't notice recently that some things taste a little different than before. I do get dizzy spells, if they get super bad I'll feel nausea or lose my vision. If I just sit down when I feel one coming on, it doesn't get that bad.

  • I can say that i am 4 months, and not once did I get m/s. I feel very fotunate since a few other girls I know are pregnant too, and were just miserable! Some of us are just lucky I guess!! Dont feel bad, feel greatful!!!! :D

  • I am pregnant with my third child now and I have never had morning sickness with any of them! So I say...don't worry consider yourself lucky. I Do!
  • I'm 36 weeks now, but never really had morning sickness.  I did however get sick a few times from brushing my teeth but nothing like others have described!
  • I am in the beginning of my third trimester and I have yet to have ANY symptoms of morning sickness.  I have been told that pregnancy is similar to your mother's, therefore check with your mom to see what she experienced if you can.  Turns out that my mom did not have morning sickness either!
  • No morning sickness for me, either!! I'm 22 weeks now, but I've only had vomiting once and it was migraine induced! My boobs hurt like crazy tho!! lol. Just be thankful. ;-) I've heard it isn't pretty!!
  • This is my 3rd baby and i haven't had morning sickness for all 3 of them. I consider myself lucky. I even sometimes forget that I am pregnant. I did get a little nauseous a few times but just ate soda crackers and went away by the time i was done eating it. I'm 14 weeks now and feel great!!!! Enjoy your pregnancy!! :)

  • i'm 20 weeks and havent gotten sick even once! not pregnancy related at least. my first trimester was great other than being tired. i ate anything and everything i wanted and still do!
  • hi lexiberry,

i just want to reassure you that there's nothing wrong with not having morning sickness.  i had plenty of people tell me that i was one of the lucky ones because its not fun.  i had no symptoms, i ate normally, i'm not on any mediations, i try to eat extra healty too.  some women get it and some do not.

if that dosen't reassure you. i'm 30 yoa and i had my first baby this past june 8th and have a happy & healthy baby boy named "Lukas" at 6 pounds 10oz.   Lukas is a happy baby and is now 12 pounds, he started making sounds & talking noises at 7 weeks.

i recently found out my sister is pregos now and she got morning sickness.  so it all depends.

don't worry too much its not good for baby.

  • I'm the same way! I am just 10 weeks with my first and only feel a little nauseous when I dont eat but it goes away once I get food in me. Hopefully it stays that way! Fingers crossed to keeping it down!
  • I'm 35 wks pregnant now, and I didn't have morning sickness. I told everyone I willed my body to not get it and I didn't!  But, whenever I brushed my teeth with my electric toothbrush, I would gag.  So, I switched to a manual toothbrush and it stopped.  Just consider yourself lucky and don't worry about it.
  • I never had any!!!  I'm 32 weeks and have little symptoms and feel great!  Hopefully the same continues for you and yes, we are VERY lucky :)
  • Im 28 weeks along and have never had any signs of my pregnancy besides my belly getting bigger and bigger. This is also my first pregnancy. Its been great to not have sickness because i have a lot of friends around me who did. Lucky us i guess. :) Good luck.
  • Thankfully, none here and I'm 26 weeks along.Wink
  • I'm 12 weeks and haven't had morning sickness at all, my husband on the other hand would get sick every morning.I kept feeling as if this weren't real because of no morning sickness, but hey we are pretty lucky I'd say,
  • Although I am grateful not to have any of the annoying signs of pregnancy either, I understand your concern. This is my first pregnancy too. I don't have tenderness in my breasts or morning sickness. However, I am exhausted on a daily basis and have recently developed the need to burp after meals (YUCK!) which was never the case before. I go for my first full exam on the 12th and hope that everything is okay.

Thank you for posting. I find it comforting to see others like myself.

  • Nope, a lot of people I know never felt anything more than nausea. I'm 21 weeks and still no sickness :)
  • I'm now 28 weeks pregnant with my first and never felt any morning sickness or any other symptoms. I had tender breasts, but not as unbearable as I heard it would be. I guess we're just lucky!
  • Haha, it's like I'm reading a message about myself!  I'm 27 wks now, and every time someone asks me how I'm feeling, they are amazed when I say, "great, it's been great the whole time."  That is:  I NEVER had morning sickness.  I did not get sick or throw up one time during the first (and now second) trimester.  I often wondered, also, if I was really preggers, but, alas, I am!  Granted, I was tired at the beginning, and now, at this stage, I get some pretty good heartburn....I just never had any (what I considered) symptoms of pregnancy.  All I tell people is that I must have gotten pretty lucky in that department...Never sick, never queasy, never so tired I fell asleep whenever I was still.  I did get headaches for about two weeks, and I have heartburn now, but, all things considered, I'd say I got off pretty easy.

Bottom line: You're not alone  :)  We are the lucky ones.

  • I guess I would consider myself luck also. The only hard part of not having morning sickness with my first child is that you tend to forget that you're pregnant and constantly wonder if you still are. I would look for signs including a belly bump that wasn't really there. I was tempted to take another test just to make sure. Now I'm 26 weeks, still no sickness and doing just fine. You might want to feel a little sick so there's the constant reminder that you are prego, but be careful what you wish for :)
  • I'm pregnant with my second child and I haven't had any morning sickness or adverse feelings with either.  We're the lucky few!
  • I am 37 weeks along now and I had zero morning sickness as well.  Enjoy it!
  • It was my first pregnancy too and I like you was questioning if I was really pregnant or not because I didnt "feel it" I LUCKLY never had any morning sickness! Never even felt nauseous...Only bad part about that is most women who have morning sickness usually lose weight in the beginning. I of course just kept on gaining :) Has its ups and downs I guess. My LO is 7 weeks. Goodluck!!
  • Don't worry you're not alone!  I didn't have any morning sickness at all and I felt VERY fortunate.  The only early pregnancy symptom I suffered from was fatigue!
