Here is an interesting theory on determining the gender. FWIW, it was correct for myself and about 10 FB friends that chimed in! (I think this is only accurate for singletons!)

If you don't want to read the whole thing, basically it says that if the baby is hanging out on the right side then it's a boy, and if it's on the left side it's a girl. This only applies to transvaginal ultrasounds early on, like between 6-9 weeks. If you had an early u/s but it was abdominal, then you reverse the results. 

Could be hocus pocus, but it's fun to guess now and see if it's right later! :)

    Ah I love these crazy theories I can't wait to see which ones are true. My LO is on the right so that says boy. Chinese gender chart says girl. I say give me healthy!

    Baby was hanging out on the left in mine, but the yolk sac is on the right so I'm thinking it means girl....or boy. Bump gender chart says boy, but all the other ones out there say girl. I'm just so excited to find out!

    How come you are waiting til Christmas time to find out? We can find out in October and I'm only 2 weeks ahead of you.

    We are having twins and baby A is on the right with the hr of 140 and B is on the left with the slower heartrate which they same is common for boys. My DH and I are thinking that we are having a set of boy/girl twins so if this is theory is accurate it may be true!

    Sorry if this is lame or obvious but, how can you tell if it is right or left side? On my us pic, it's either top or bottom.

     This is my question too! When I look at my u/s pic baby is on the right, BUT it's a picture, so baby is on the left, or so I would guess. Like if I hold the pic in front of my tummy, the baby is on the left. I'm not sure if that makes sense.

     I see pp saying they're one side or the other, but looking at the pic, I would have said the other side.  Am I crazy or do I make a little sense here?

    I went and checked DD's u/s and this was correct for us!  Wow!  Haven't had my u/s with this one yet, so we'll see.  :)  Thanks for sharing!

    Baby's on right... that means BOY.... which, is also what Cheri22 and Chinese gender chart says... we'll see :)
