I've definatly got a belly going on and can no longer fit into anything I own, but I don't seem to be gaining any weight. I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else and if this is at all normal. I've been eating more throughout the day and feel like I'm getting the extra calories I need, so I just don't understand what's going on. Any input would be appreciated. TIA!

Just a bit of advise Most people on here dont like weight posts , especially about lucky people who dont gain weight...
To answer your question, Im about in the same boat. I didnt gain until 19 wks, now I am up just 6 lbs but have been stuffing my face with junk.
I hate you all...
My sister was the same, but she got pregnant at 18. So I think she was losing her baby fat at the same time. Her total weight gain was only about 15lbs, but she slimmed out everywhere but her belly.
Same here! I am 17 weeks and MIGHT have gained a pound (depends on when I weigh myself and whether I have recently eaten). However, I haven't been able to comfortably wear my clothes for weeks. I've attempted maternity clothes, but they're all still too big. Getting dressed (in something other than sweat shorts and t-shirts) is never fun and takes forever to pull something decent together.
According to my dr's scales I have lost 20 lbs...doubtful. According to my scale I have lost 10 lbs...I believe it.
My belly is getting bigger for sure, but my butt, thighs, arms, and legs are getting smaller.
It is change in diet and exercise that is doing it for me. I always think my dr is going to yell at me for losing weight but so far he hasn't said anything about it.
The same thing happened to me. up to week 16 i only gained one pound. and everything is fine.
I am at 16 weeks, and in the first trimester I lost a pound. Now I have finally gained that back, but it looks like I've gained so much more! I'm still very sensitive about it, especially when I know my customers can tell at work. My DH tells me if I don't quit whining about being fat, he's getting a vasectomy (Not a chance! I'll cancel his appointment while he's on his way there). My doctor even told me I look great and seem to be doing fabulous.
I've been careful about what I eat, trying to eat healthy for the baby and for me so that I don't overgain but I do gain enough for the baby. And now when I'm going to unavoidably gain weight, I'm actually exercising regularly like I never have before. I walk the dogs every night, and befor I was pregnant, I hardly ever had the energy to do anything after work. I guess I'm just not into pregnancy-mindset yet. I'm still in that skinny jeans frame of mind, just not frame of body.
Right now it seems to me that my legs and butt are giving up some weight to my belly. So I think it's just shifting around maybe.
Actually, it is the other way around. You get all of the nutrients you need first and your baby gets what is left over. That's why it is so important to eat well (and eat enough) during pregnancy.
This is very normal. With DS I didn't start gaining weight until around 20 weeks. This pregnancy is following a similar pattern. I remember feeling very nervous about this with my first pregnancy - I expected to start putting on weight right away. Don't worry though, it usually starts piling on later
According to my doctor, she is right. I was losing a lot of weight in the first tri because of m/s and my doctor told me not to worry about the baby. She will take what she needs. It is important to eat well during pregnancy so you make sure to keep up your energy and health and aren't sick. The baby will eat your bones if it needs the nutrients. I had a friend with rhumetoid arthritis and she literally was wasting away because she was so sick and the baby was taking all her nutrients.
At my last appointment (2 weeks ago) I was the same weight that I was when I had my first appointment and was only 2 months along. I'm approaching 5 months and definitely am in maternity pants but haven't gained any weight. I did lose 2 lbs in first tri due to morning sickness, so I've gained those two back, but I'm still around what I've always pretty much weighed.
My doctor didn't seem at all worried, so I'm not, but still it doesn't really feel right, does it?
