Re: **3T Weekly Check-In**
I'm getting my ER done tomorrow morning and I'm oddly excited. I guess it's nice to know there's an end in sight and hopefully to get some news in the coming days. I can't believe this all happening!
QOTD: Favorite memories were those great cartoons. Something I'd like not to come back is acid washed denim and mullets. Those were never a good idea.
I'm on CD 7 today, finishing up Femara and beginning Gonal-F tonight. So excited for my next u/s to see if its working.
QOTD: I miss the old Madonna. I loved her so much. I remember being at the mall during a Madonna look-alike contest and we begged our Mom to let us watch to whole thing. She now says it was odd to hear us sing "Like a Virgin" at 7 & 9 years old.
I really hope tight-rolled jeans don't come back. I would do mine so tight that it would cut off the circulation in my legs. It made your legs look skinnier!

I'm counting down the days til my next RE appointment. I'm hoping this month flies by so we can get ready for IUI #2.
QOTW: I'm gonna show my age here, but I was born in '86 so I don't really remember anything from the '80s.
ETA: But, from what I know now about the '80s the thing I like the best would be Madonna's music, and what I'd like the least is the fashions.
Update: I am 7dp3dt today and I feel quite certain that I am not pregnant:( I had my prog check today and it was lower than in the past, so I am pretty sure there is nothing going on in there producing its own progesterone. Also, I just haven't felt anything at all - no cramps or twitches, nothing.

Update: I go in tomorrow for monitoring again. Last week didn't go so great as my Estradiol went from 55 on Monday to 59 on Thurs and my follie only grew 1mm. I've been getting some really dark positive OPKs though, so I'm hoping that follie had a growth spurt.
I'm hoping this cycle isn't a bust but trying not to get my hopes too high. If I don't get good new tomorrow, we'll just start preparing ourselves for our first IUI (finally).
QOTW: I LOVED the 80's...I wish I would have been older growing up through the 80's (although I'm grateful for the better prom dresses by the time I had prom!)
But I loved the music and the fact that MTV and VH1 had music videos (imagine that!) The toys were cool and things just seemed simpler although I'm sure its because I was a kid.

QOTD: Actually, I think there are a lot of 80's styles that never need to return: splatter paint, banana clips/plastic hair clips, slouch socks (even thought they are still popular at Hooter's), big bangs.
update - first monitoring appt. is tomorrow morning. I don't have any EWCM yet so it looks like IUI will probably be later the week.
QOTW - I loved the freedom of the 80's. I don't think parents were nearly as paranoid as they are now. We were free to roam the neighborhood as long as we were home by dinner. The cartoons were also pretty awesome. I do not ever want the styles to come back. The big hair, the rolled jeans, the neon. I refuse to ever repeat it.

I have my second opinion on Tuesday. I'm hoping to hear the new RE doesn't think I need repeat lap just yet. I'm also hoping to hear he has a way to work around monitoring appointments b/c its 2 hours away! No other updates for me. Counting down the time till done with Lupron shots!
QOTW: I loved the music- Tiffany, Journey, Bon Jovie! I still think 80's music is the best. The clothes on the other hand... Im glad cavarichi's and acid wash pants and all the neon clothes are gone.
Tomorrow I start my lupron shots! Last birth control pill (hopefully forever!) is on Friday. And my next RE appt. is not until Aug. 9th. I got some sucky news though - my insurance will not pay for IVF b/w or u/s like they did for IUIs. So more money out of pocket for us - the only 'good' thing is we'll definitely meet the 7.5% of your income to be able to write it off our taxes.
QOTW: I loved the 80s - but mostly b/c it was my childhood! The music brings me back and the movies were great too! I have to say though - my sister and I were shopping all day yesterday - and it seems like neon is coming back - I saw socks and t-shirts that both reminded me of the 80s fashions. I hope it doesn't catch on!

We're still natural cycling until our first IVF in October. We have our second opinion scheduled a week from Monday.
Fondest memory of the 80s (I have many!): Hair bands. Whitesnake, Cinderella, Tesla, Poison..... Seriously, I loved that type of music and went to so many concerts, it's embarassing. I saw Great White in concert like 5 times.
Thing I hope never makes a comeback: Farrah hair !
No real news here. I am currently 6 dpo, and this is my first 2ww in almost a year. I am hopeful, but realistic as this was our first medicated cycle. At least I O'd!
QOTW: Neon anything. I loved it than, and I still love it now. I hope stonewashed jeans never make a comeback.
CD1 today. I have my next appointment on Tuesday to figure out the plan for this cycle.

QOTW: I loved most of the 80s, espcially the music and movies (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ... my fave!). I'm not a fan of 80s clothing styles coming back, specifically, leggins. I think I would cry if I ever saw "pegged/french cuffed" pants again! Also, jelly shoes were the WORST invention ever!

4) What treatments have you done? this was our first month of clomid+HCG trigger+iui, I'm currently 10 DPO, 12 days past my trigger and I had a very faint positive on a IC with FMU...I don't know what to make of it. Is it a real BFP? Is it residual from the trigger? Ahhhhhh!!

Update: I started spotting on Monday, and I'm still not sure what is going on with my body. I usually spot, but here lately its been 2-3 days. It hasn't been this long for awhile. I thought I started on Friday because I felt the cramps coming on and some red flow so I took some Ibuprofen and went on with my day. Later that day and still today, just spotting now. Ugh. I took 2 tests just to see, and both were negative. So to sum it all up - still waiting to start IUI #2 with 100 mg. Clomid + Ovidrel.
QOTW: I was born in the middle 80's so I don't remember too much!
We are 8dpiui. If this one doesn't work, we'll be moving on to injectibles after a break (likely) and visiting with some adoption agencies.
QOTW: I loved the cartoons - Gem & The Hollograms, Carebears and Rainbow Brite. I also loved knee socks and jellies (though not together). I agree with PP that things seemed a lot simpler then and I loved the fact that we were free to roam the neighborhood on our bikes with a several block radius. I hated the mullets and hope those never come back!
Update: at my 8DPO lab draw my e2 level and my p4 level were low (e2 was 84 and my p4 was 12.4). If this cycle is another BFN, the RE wants to do an HCG booster after the initial trigger. Then I believe this next one is my last before moving to IVF.
QOTW: What I hope never comes back: acid wash jeans, tight rolled jeans, mullets. What I loved about the 80's: the cartoons, especially on Saturday morning, jelly shoes

All 5 Clomid cylces resulted in BFN; no more Clomid.
Laparoscopy Scheduled 1/11/11: Path report showed minor inflammation and infection.
3/30/11 Biopsy results: cervial and endometrial pathologies normal; one pathology came back abnormal with 5 rare cells from the endometritis

QOTW: So on Good Morning America the other day they were saying how the 80?s are back. What is your fondest memory of this decade and what is something you hope doesn?t come back?
I am sorry to say that I do not remember much of any thing about the 1980's. As I was less than 4 when they ended
. All I do know is that everyone in my family had ugly glasses and I hope that that trend fails to return.
Updates: CD 9, still on 75iu of Menopur. Calling the RE in the morning to see what my e2 was and then going from there. I'm going to assume IUI #5 is the end of the week.
QOTW: I loved my toys; Popples and my record player were my faves. My favorite record was Michael Jackson "Beat It" single.

Update: We submitted our initial application to our adoption agency this week! Now we're waiting to be contacted by our case manager.
QOTW: I would hate to see big, crispy bangs come back!
Update: I go for some b/w tomorrow to make sure my beta is 0 and to check my TSH and T4, as well as to get a couple of other levels. DH needs to get directions on what he is to do for his sperm DNA fragmentation test. Otherwise, we are on our "break". I have no clue when we'll even resume a sex life. Other than TTC, I am not even sure what that is anymore.
QOTW: Ahh the 80's - big hair and ugly clothes. Really, I can't think of a thing that I liked - other than some of the music. I did love me some Boy George back in the day. And I was awesome at pegging my pants!! What I hope never comes back - the huge geometric prints on shirts and stirrup pants - those were really awful!!
Haha, jelly shoes...I TOTALLY forgot about those. Jelly shoes in the 80's and Crocs in the 2000's..I honestly don't know which is worse

Update: ER was Fri, 18 retrieved, 13 mature and 10 fertilized. Tomorrow i go for bloodwork to check my e2 and p4. Im on 1.5 cc p4 and will start crinone tonight (eek). I will hear how my embies are doing tomorrow and whether we go in tomorrow for a 3d or Wed for a 5d

Well I was born in the mid 80s so I don't remember much. But what i have seen that is making a comeback is the clothing and I wish it wasn't.
I started my new treatment plan. I'm on day 3 of Femara and will be taking Ovidrel to trigger.
QOTW: I loved the games. I remember playing freeze tag, flashlight tag, hide and go seek in the dark, jump rope and double dutch as a kid. I don't even see kids outside anymore, unless they're on bikes.
I definitely do not miss fanny packs, corduroys, blue eyeshadow or big hair.
Update: Had IUI #2 this morning, so I guess I am now in the 2ww!

Hi girls. I am triggering for IUI #2 tonight. Trying to stay optimistic but it's not working so well. I've actually really uglued emotionally as of late:-(
80's... I want none of them back, other than maybe the innocence of being a kid. Most of all, I want the fashions of 80's including pegged pants and giant shoulder pads to never, ever make a comeback.

Update: Latest SA (last week) was 3.6 million, and DH is undergoing more b/w to see if we can figure out the root of the MFI. We will have a consult with the RE soon to discuss options.
QOTW: I was only alive for 7 years of the 80s, but back then I loved the slap bracelets, Gumby, and My Little Pony. I can't think of too much that I want to bring back, honestly... the outfits were garish and you really had to hunt for good music! I think I'd rather take the 90s grunge than the 80s poufy hair, neon colors, and leggings-with-oversized-T-shirts!
Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.
IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.
Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

Update: We're stuck in fertility-limbo until DH sees the urologist on 8/30 (due to his abysmal repeat S/A).
QOTW: I wish they would bring back New York Seltzer!!! DH and I were just talking about this today, and how amazing it was.
I think that we can leave shoulder pads and the big poofy-sleeved formal dresses in the 80s.
I'm 9dpiui and patiently waiting to test. Okay, maybe not that patiently. I didn't test out my trigger otherwise I knew I'd just start testing shortly after, so now I have to wait until there is "no chance" of the trigger still being in me. Wow, I have to trick myself into not POAS.
QOTW: The cartoons were definitely better in the 80's (although, probably not as educational!). But I do not miss the really short shorts guys wore, knobs on the TV and no remotes, and of course big hair and bad make-up - that's me on my first day of kindergarten, with my aunts who were in high school, circa 1988.
