Re: **3T Weekly Check-In**

  • I'm getting my ER done tomorrow morning and I'm oddly excited. I guess it's nice to know there's an end in sight and hopefully to get some news in the coming days. I can't believe this all happening!

QOTD: Favorite memories were those great cartoons. Something I'd like not to come back is acid washed denim and mullets. Those were never a good idea.

(Live in Europe) TTC since 1/2010
  • Loading the player...
  • I'm on CD 7 today, finishing up Femara and beginning Gonal-F tonight.  So excited for my next u/s to see if its working.

QOTD:  I miss the old Madonna.  I loved her so much.  I remember being at the mall during a Madonna look-alike contest and we begged our Mom to let us watch to whole thing.  She now says it was odd to hear us sing "Like a Virgin" at 7 & 9 years old.

I really hope tight-rolled jeans don't come back.  I would do mine so tight that it would cut off the circulation in my legs.  It made your legs look skinnier!

After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!
IVF March 2012 - BFP! - Severe OHSS = 8 days in the hospital in kidney failure
    No heartbeat at 10w6d
    FET August 27,2012 = BFP!
    It's a boy!

  • I'm counting down the days til my next RE appointment. I'm hoping this month flies by so we can get ready for IUI #2.

QOTW: I'm gonna show my age here, but I was born in '86 so I don't really remember anything from the '80s.  Embarrassed

ETA: But, from what I know now about the '80s the thing I like the best would be Madonna's music, and what I'd like the least is the fashions.

  • Update: I am 7dp3dt today and I feel quite certain that I am not pregnant:( I had my prog check today and it was lower than in the past, so I am pretty sure there is nothing going on in there producing its own progesterone. Also, I just haven't felt anything at all - no cramps or twitches, nothing.

QOTW: I am going to agree that I hope mullets don't come back:) One of my fondest memories of the 80s: Cabbage Patch Kids!
    IUIs #1-3 (1x unmedicated, 2x Clomid) = 2 BFNs, 1 m/c at 7w3d
    IUIs #4-6 (injects) = 3 BFNs
    IVF #1 = BFN
    FET #1 = BFN
    FET #2 = BFN
IVF #2 = BFP, b/g twins lost at 20w due to partial abruption/PPROM
    IVF #3 = c/p 5w2d
Long-shot Clomid/Prednisone cycle before next IVF = BFP, our beautiful, healthy girl born 6/26/13!
    ~~
    TTC again March 2014
    FET #3 - May/June 2014
    -
all embryos arrested before xfer - back to the drawing board...
    IVF #4 - July/August 2014
    beta 1 (11dp3dt) 220, beta 2 (13dp3dt) 671, beta 3 (19dp3dt) 10762
  • I am currently in the 2WW.  I am hopeful, yet realistic.  If this is not the cycle for us, I am going to check into an HSG and a SA for my H.

From the 80's, I loved Tiffany and Debbie Gibson!  I am not a fan of the acid wash jeans!

  • Update: I go in tomorrow for monitoring again. Last week didn't go so great as my Estradiol went from 55 on Monday to 59 on Thurs and my follie only grew 1mm. I've been getting some really dark positive OPKs though, so I'm hoping that follie had a growth spurt.

I'm hoping this cycle isn't a bust but trying not to get my hopes too high. If I don't get good new tomorrow, we'll just start preparing ourselves for our first IUI (finally).

QOTW: I LOVED the 80's...I wish I would have been older growing up through the 80's (although I'm grateful for the better prom dresses by the time I had prom!) Stick out tongue But I loved the music and the fact that MTV and VH1 had music videos (imagine that!) The toys were cool and things just seemed simpler although I'm sure its because I was a kid.

I'll be happy to NOT see stirrup pants, crimped hair(although I totally crimped my hair back then!), huge hair scrunchies, and an excess of neon again!

  • I think I may have been removed from the original list so here's my info;

    Michelle, Sept. 2009, Unexplained IF

Currently on IUI #6 (with follistim) which should take place on Wednesday, as long as I don't have too many mature follicles.

QOTD: Actually, I think there are a lot of 80's styles that never need to return: splatter paint, banana clips/plastic hair clips, slouch socks (even thought they are still popular at Hooter's), big bangs.

  • update - first monitoring appt. is tomorrow morning.  I don't have any EWCM yet so it looks like IUI will probably be later the week.

QOTW - I loved the freedom of the 80's.  I don't think parents were nearly as paranoid as they are now.  We were free to roam the neighborhood as long as we were home by dinner.   The cartoons were also pretty awesome.  I do not ever want the styles to come back.  The big hair, the rolled jeans, the neon.  I refuse to ever repeat it.

    TTC since 2010

lots of IUIs and 1 IVF all BFNs

    FET currently on hold

    photo guiness-1.jpg

  • I have my second opinion on Tuesday. I'm hoping to hear the new RE doesn't think I need repeat lap just yet. I'm also hoping to hear he has a way to work around monitoring appointments b/c its 2 hours away! No other updates for me. Counting down the time till done with Lupron shots!

QOTW: I loved the music- Tiffany, Journey, Bon Jovie! I still think 80's music is the best.  The clothes on the other hand... Im glad cavarichi's and acid wash pants and all the neon clothes are gone.

  • 1) Ashley 2) Started TTC in Jan 20113) Recently diagnosed with PCOS... haven't ovulated since stopping the pill in Nov 2010, very long irregular cycles. DH's SA came back normal.4) So far no treatments but very anxious/excited for my first RE appt this Wednesday 8/3/11 to hopefully get started on something.   I love 80's movies like Sixteen Candles, When Harry Met Sally, The Breakfast Club...etc. I would not like to see the return of the 80's hairstyles!

  • Tomorrow I start my lupron shots!  Last birth control pill (hopefully forever!) is on Friday.  And my next RE appt. is not until Aug. 9th.  I got some sucky news though - my insurance will not pay for IVF b/w or u/s like they did for IUIs.  So more money out of pocket for us - the only 'good' thing is we'll definitely meet the 7.5% of your income to be able to write it off our taxes.

QOTW:  I loved the 80s - but mostly b/c it was my childhood! The music brings me back and the movies were great too!  I have to say though - my sister and I were shopping all day yesterday - and it seems like neon is coming back - I saw socks and t-shirts that both reminded me of the 80s fashions.  I hope it doesn't catch on!

  • We're still natural cycling until our first IVF in October.  We have our second opinion scheduled a week from Monday.

Fondest memory of the 80s (I have many!):   Hair bands.  Whitesnake, Cinderella, Tesla, Poison.....   Seriously, I loved that type of music and went to so many concerts, it's embarassing.  I saw Great White in concert like 5 times.

Thing I hope never makes a comeback:  Farrah hair !

  • No real news here.  I am currently 6 dpo, and this is my first 2ww in almost a year.  I am hopeful, but realistic as this was our first medicated cycle.  At least I O'd!

QOTW:  Neon anything.  I loved it than, and I still love it now.  I hope stonewashed jeans never make a comeback.

QOTW:  I loved MTV in the 80's.  Now MTV shows no music even though that is what MTV is suppose to be about.  The one things that I don't want to come back is the hair styles.  What were we thinking???

I'm getting my ER done tomorrow morning and I'm oddly excited. I guess it's nice to know there's an end in sight and hopefully to get some news in the coming days. I can't believe this all happening!

QOTD: Favorite memories were those great cartoons. Something I'd like not to come back is acid washed denim and mullets. Those were never a good idea.

    GL tomorrow!!!!

  • 1) Tanya 2) TTC since 10/2009 3) annovulatory 4) one round of 50mg clomid with no response On cd 9, just took my last femara pill...whoo hoo! QOTW: loved me some LA Gears with two colored shoe strings. Didn't so much love the big hair!

  • TTC since April/May 2010; no Dx yet; waiting to begin testing at the start of my next period.

QOTW:  I loved most of the 80s, espcially the music and movies (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ... my fave!).  I'm not a fan of 80s clothing styles coming back, specifically, leggins.  I think I would cry if I ever saw "pegged/french cuffed" pants again!  Also, jelly shoes were the WORST invention ever!

    1) What is your name (if you want to share)? Lindsay

    2) When did you start TTC (month/year)? 6/2010

    3) What is your diagnosis, if you have one? unexplained

    4) What treatments have you done? this was our first month of clomid+HCG trigger+iui, I'm currently 10 DPO, 12 days past my trigger and I had a very faint positive on a IC with FMU...I don't know what to make of it. Is it a real BFP? Is it residual from the trigger? Ahhhhhh!!

QOTW: So on Good Morning America the other day they were saying how the 80?s are back. What is your fondest memory of this decade and what is something you hope doesn?t come back? 2 things...french roll on jeans, and double stacked socks! We don't need that again!

  • Update: I started spotting on Monday, and I'm still not sure what is going on with my body.  I usually spot, but here lately its been 2-3 days.  It hasn't been this long for awhile.  I thought I started on Friday because I felt the cramps coming on and some red flow so I took some Ibuprofen and went on with my day.  Later that day and still today, just spotting now.  Ugh.  I took 2 tests just to see, and both were negative.  So to sum it all up - still waiting to start IUI #2 with 100 mg. Clomid + Ovidrel.

QOTW: I was born in the middle 80's so I don't remember too much!

  • We are 8dpiui.  If this one doesn't work, we'll be moving on to injectibles after a break (likely) and visiting with some adoption agencies.

QOTW: I loved the cartoons - Gem & The Hollograms, Carebears and Rainbow Brite.  I also loved knee socks and jellies (though not together).  I agree with PP that things seemed a lot simpler then and I loved the fact that we were free to roam the neighborhood on our bikes with a several block radius.  I hated the mullets and hope those never come back!

  • Aime32Aime32 member

Update: at my 8DPO lab draw my e2 level and my p4 level were low (e2 was 84 and my p4 was 12.4).  If this cycle is another BFN, the RE wants to do an HCG booster after the initial trigger.  Then I believe this next one is my last before moving to IVF.

QOTW:  What I hope never comes back:  acid wash jeans, tight rolled jeans, mullets.  What I loved about the 80's:  the cartoons, especially on Saturday morning, jelly shoes

I am sorry to say that I do not remember much of any thing about the 1980's. As I was less than 4 when they endedStick out tongue. All I do know is that everyone in my family had ugly glasses and I hope that that trend fails to return.

QOTW: I loved my toys; Popples and my record player were my faves. My favorite record was Michael Jackson "Beat It" single. <3

I was not a fan of stonewash jeans or gaudy poofy wedding dresses!

  • Update:  I go for some b/w tomorrow to make sure my beta is 0 and to check my TSH and T4, as well as to get a couple of other levels.  DH needs to get directions on what he is to do for his sperm DNA fragmentation test.  Otherwise, we are on our "break".  I have no clue when we'll even resume a sex life.  Other than TTC, I am not even sure what that is anymore.

QOTW:  Ahh the 80's - big hair and ugly clothes.  Really, I can't think of a thing that I liked - other than some of the music.  I did love me some Boy George back in the day.  And I was awesome at pegging my pants!!  What I hope never comes back - the huge geometric prints on shirts and stirrup pants - those were really awful!!

80's... I want none of them back, other than maybe the innocence of being a kid.  Most of all, I want the fashions of 80's including pegged pants and giant shoulder pads to never, ever make a comeback.

Update: ER was Fri, 18 retrieved, 13 mature and 10 fertilized. Tomorrow i go for bloodwork to check my e2 and p4. Im on 1.5 cc p4 and will start crinone tonight (eek). I will hear how my embies are doing tomorrow and whether we go in tomorrow for a 3d or Wed for a 5d :)

QOTW: I loved being a child of the 80's! I could do without french cuffing your jeans, srunchy neon socks, tying your shirt to the side in a knot or with a clip lol im laughing just remembering some of my outfits! Oh who can resist a good side ponytail complete with neon slap bracelet :)

You just described my outfit for tomorrow!  j/k!  I could post some awesome pictures from the 80s dressed just like this!

  • Update:  Latest SA (last week) was 3.6 million, and DH is undergoing more b/w to see if we can figure out the root of the MFI.  We will have a consult with the RE soon to discuss options.

QOTW:  I was only alive for 7 years of the 80s, but back then I loved the slap bracelets, Gumby, and My Little Pony.  I can't think of too much that I want to bring back, honestly... the outfits were garish and you really had to hunt for good music!  I think I'd rather take the 90s grunge than the 80s poufy hair, neon colors, and leggings-with-oversized-T-shirts!

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

  • Update: We're stuck in fertility-limbo until DH sees the urologist on 8/30 (due to his abysmal repeat S/A).

QOTW: I wish they would bring back New York Seltzer!!!  DH and I were just talking about this today, and how amazing it was.

I think that we can leave shoulder pads and the big poofy-sleeved formal dresses in the 80s.

  • I'm 9dpiui and patiently waiting to test. Okay, maybe not that patiently. I didn't test out my trigger otherwise I knew I'd just start testing shortly after, so now I have to wait until there is "no chance" of the trigger still being in me. Wow, I have to trick myself into not POAS.

QOTW: The cartoons were definitely better in the 80's (although, probably not as educational!). But I do not miss the really short shorts guys wore, knobs on the TV and no remotes, and of course big hair and bad make-up - that's me on my first day of kindergarten, with my aunts who were in high school, circa 1988. :)
