you owned skin-tight Calvins, as Brooke dared you to and you kissed your Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, and Andy Gibb posters goodnight. You also wore your Forenza sweaters backwards and had several colors. Your prom dresses had poofy sleeves and a hoop or multiple crenolines to match your fabulous permed, teased and heavily, Aquaneted hair....and no doubt, your date had a fabulous dyed to match bow tie and cumberbund to match your dress.

Most of what everyone else said. I'll add that if you wanted to be Molly Ringwald, fancied guys with Iroqs and remember when Ozzy Osborne was more famous for biting the heads off bats than for mumbling incoherently on stage.
LOL to all of this! How about if you couldn't leave the house without crimped hair, a side pony and neon slouch socks. Or you had to race home to catch David Lee Roth on the 4 O'clock rock show (was that only Canadian??) and scream we're not gonna take it. Or if you can remember the Prell commercial. Or if you've ever talked on a party line and I don't mean a 1-900 number.
Darn, I thought I could remember more, but I'm tired. Oh - lip synch band contests at school.
You once owned a large comb with your name on it that you felt compelled to keep in the back pocket of your jeans (name out of course)
OMG, definitely this! Can I tell you (slightly embarrassed), I still have one in the basket with all my combs/hairbands! We used to look cool with them in our back pocket as we skated around the roller rink, too!
A few others, Sergio Valente Jeans, stickers (anything with a rainbow or unicorn was cool), having your shirt collar up (if you layers shirts, that was even better!), wearing a denim jackets and those knotted friendship braclets!
Married 5/12/07
Took 3 IUIs and 2 IVFs for our sweet boy
He was worth the wait!
Leslieb923: Did you see the Dancin' on Air anniversary show last weekend? They ran 4 episodes & I saw Kelly Ripa. One episode was a school spirit episode & she was wearing her cheerleader uniform. Then there was a spotlight dance where she was looked lovingly into the eyes of her partner as they danced...lol. Shades of her early acting career on All My Children
Coveted a pair of parachute pants, drove a car with t-tops, had Donnie and Marie dolls. Can quickly name the starring duo of "A Pirate Movie" because it was like the awesomest movie evah!!!

Staying out until the street lights came on cuz you know you'd get a beating if you didnt come in then
Wonder twin powers
Strawberry shortcake dolls
Phones with cords super long so you can take it into the closet and talk on the phone and your mother yelling at you to get off the phone because there was no call waiting or caller id so she didn't know if your dad was trying to call.
Gawd how did we ever survive
Ohh and you remember 8 track tapes cuz your dad had one and played Willie Nelson
Sorry this is jumbled. I'm on an iPad

Wow! Thanks for the picture of Donny & Marie dolls! I got Donny and my sister got Marie because she had Ken and wouldn't share. We also had some singer with blond hair that stood on a pink star stand. Anyone have any clue who that was?

The rainbows. I totally forgot about the rainbows. I had a friend who got to decorate her room with rainbows and I was green with envy. Rainbows were the best.
I don't think it was the Jem doll, I think it could've been someone like a Mandrell sister. Remember them? We used to watch Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell sisters followed by the muppets every Thursday night when we were little.

Re: You belong here if. . .
....you have owned a can of Aquanet, know how to use it and feel responsible for some problems with the ozone layer.
...your hair was simultaneously permtastic curly and straight-up wall solid (cue Aquanet environmental disaster).
...you had a Member's Only jacket, Reeboks or knockoffs.
...you were part of the ORIGINAL jellies footwear craze.
...you know "I love it when a plan comes together!" from the TV version.
...you remember Lynda Carter not as a contacts spokeswoman but as Wonder Woman (I so wanted to be her. Wait-- I still do!)

DS -- 3YO
You wore painted-on jordache. "Jordache has the look that's ri-ight!"
You feathered your hair with no trace of irony.
Three words: Acid wash denim.
You wore a banana clip and braided barrettes in your hair. Not at the same time though. *That* would look silly. Ha!
Now this is sad for me. Many of the things you mentioned were for LITTLE girls. I was already in high school!!!
Swatch watches. Kangaroo shoes. Leg warmers. Mullets. Van Halen's Diver Down album. Pastel colored, layered Camp shirts with the collars popped.
Man.. you guys need to see my senior picture sometime. It was fan TAB ulous! Must go find one!
You bought Bop magazine for the posters of Duran Duran, Ricky Schroder or some other early 80s hunk

I want to snuggle with this thread
You belong here if you wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer and for an encore you wanted to be a lip syncer on Puttin' on the Hits.
What about the show "Dance Party USA"? That was a favorite of mine! Kelly Ripa was a regular on it when she was young.
I want to snuggle with this thread, too! : )

Hey, I graduated in 1987. I still have my swatch somewhere and my leg warmers as well.
Michael has a Monchichi mini doll.

You sent actual notes to your friends and boyfriends, not texts or emails.
You were excited when your parents finally got call waiting for the phone (and it was plugged into the wall).
You remember when your family got a color television and it did not have a remote control!
You did your homework with erasable ink--and had the smudges and ink all over your hand and paper to prove it!
You wore pink and green together because you were preppy!
I'll stop now, I could go on forever!!!
Dude, no -- Tiger Beat all the way. Scott Baio and EARLY John Stamos.

Big - 1 year old
Bigger - 6 years old
Biggest - 13 years old
Yes to all of the above.
I still have my braided barrettes (1 set) actually. Kind of scary. And the Doo Run Run LP was my first record. I loved me some Shawn Cassidy.
And my Donnie doll was a Lothario. Marie, unfortunately, lost her beautiful brown hair in a horrific hair-cutting incident. Poor Marie.

I actually made and sold barettes like that. I accepted custom orders with your choice of colors and beads or flowers on the ends of the ribbons.
Was that the Jem doll?
Yes! Every Friday
The rainbows. I totally forgot about the rainbows. I had a friend who got to decorate her room with rainbows and I was green with envy. Rainbows were the best.
I bought my prom dress at Contempo Casual! I loved that store.
You had a Magic Curl Barbie or a Barbie & The Rockers
Teddy Rumpskin (something like that)
You watched the Beverly Hills Teens
You watched 21 Jump Street
You wore two different colored slouchy socks on each foot.
I took a lot of carp from my friends in college because I insisted on making sure my socks matched my shirt, often doubling them up like that.
Yay another member of the class of 1987!!! Glad I am not the oldest one here.
Yes to the Swatch...also rocked high top Reeboks, Capezios, and OP.
