You'd think I'd learn after cutting Nicholas' finger when he was an infant. Today I cut Ava's nails and proceeded to cut 3 of her fingers. Yeah I felt like crap. her poor little fingers were bleeding so much, I thought I was going to have to put crime scene tape around her. Blood all over her bib, her burpie cloth, my shirt. What a diseaster.
So no more nail clipping.
Re: Okay I'm never cutting Ava's nails ever again.
I refuse to cut my kids nails. I did Paige's once when she was a baby and took a gash out of her finger. Never again.
DH has the steadiest hand and does a great job, so we are okay.
Awwww...I did that the first time I cut Leland's nails. It was like a blood bath! I felt so terrible! I was crying and screaming at my DH to make the bleeding stop. Leland didn't even notice it happened, but I was tramatized. DH made a little bandage for his finger. I think he was only 5 weeks old when it happened.
After that I just filed their nails. It was much easier. I didn't start cutting them again until about a month ago.
I am still traumatized from when I cut Grant's finger nearly two years ago! The worst of it was that I cut the index finger on his left hand--one of the two fingers he sucks. Bad, bad mommy! It was awful. The blood, the crying (his and mine!). . . and then knowing that I still had to cut his nails in the future. It was awful!
Good news, he doesn't remember it! She won't either, but my thoughts are with you!
