My parents didn't know my sex until I was born.

They were going to name me Ian if I was a boy.

My dad wanted to name me Stephanie or Jacqueline. Mom said no to both of those.

They didn't know if I was going to be a boy or a girl. My mom liked the name Noelle but my dad said it was too "christmasy". If I was a boy, I would have been a III - my dad is a Junior and his name is VERY hispanic.

My mom wanted to name me Aubrey or Audrey but my grandpa didn't like either of those names. So after I was born she named Brandy me without consulting my grandfather. Smile

I was supposed to be Christine Danielle until my mom decided differently in the delivery room. My dad didn't care enough to be there for the birth so she didn't care about his opinion. She loved Megan and her middle name is Jane so I became Megan Jane.

I was Sidney/Sydney until right before I was born when they changed their minds and went with Lindsey. In high school my mom told me she wished she would have named me Sidney instead (she's a peach).

If I had been a boy I would have been Grant.

I was going to be a Christopher. They(doc included) thought Iwas a boy until about a month before I was due. Then they discoveredI was a baby girl with heart or kidney problems, something to do with2 veins in my umbilical cord. Turns out it was the heart.

John if I would have ended up a boy. But they chose Jenelle when they found out I was a girl. My mom said she met an officer with the last name "Genel" and they fell in love with it. Until recently I only ever met one other person with my name in my life. However, very very few spell it the same way.

The girl name my mom picked out for me was Angelina, that was supposed to be my name. My dad changed her mind after I was born and I am Bernadette after both my mom and grandma

My parents didn't know my gender until I was born, but for some reason my dad was convinced I was a girl, so he called me Laeci the entire pregnancy! Luckily he was right : P

My boy's name would have been Kellen Lance. That was the only boy name my parents agreed on, and was the potential name for all my siblings (both turned out to be girls, though)

Following family tradition, if I had been a boy I would have been stuck with August Bernard. And my dad informed my mom that Daisy was a cow name - she came to agree with him and they came up with a much better name.

My dad wanted to name me Eleanor, but my mom wanted to name me Jenna (after her mom who had passed away). The story goes that my dad polled the waiting room while my mom was laboring, and I guess Jenna was a bigger hit

My cousin has the same name, but spells it differently (Jenel). I also volunteer for an animal shelter, and we have a volunteer named Janelle.

I was going to be Kara or Beth but my parents couldn't agree, so they just named me after my mom, Elaine. Then they scrambled for a nickname since 2 Elaines in the house just wouldn't work.

My mom had 4 girls, and I am the oldest, so they got to use all the girl names they liked. If I were a boy I would have been Josiah Lewis, a family name. I was so happy to be a girl because we didnt like the name lol.

I am the 7th girl in a row of 9 kids- 8 girls, 1 boy who is the youngest. If I was a boy I would have been Peter after my father. Instead, I came out a girl and was named Mindy after my mom's favorite show at the time "Mork and Mindy".

My brother is named Peter Benjamin- first name after my father, middle name after the ob/gyn who delivered all 9 of us.

My parents were dead set on naming me Jessica until I was born, and then they decided to go waaay away from that and chose Sianna instead. I'm glad they chose differently because I had 3 Jessica's in my class of 20 kids.

My mom had my name picked out way before I was conceived apparently, Rachael. She didn't know if I was a boy or a girl either but insisted she "knew" I was a girl. If I were a boy, I would have been Gabriel. She didn't consult anyone, including my dad about my name.

My mom really wanted Alexis Sue, one of her good friends name that had passed away. However my dad thankfully smartened her up and reminded her that with my maiden last name, my initials would have been A..S...S... not good. Thank god he put that all together.
