GTKY: What names did your parents consider for you?

If I was a boy I would have been named Richard or Daniel (now my younger brothers name).  My mom wanted to name me Elizabeth but my father is a HUGE Beatles fan and convinced her to name me Michelle (Michelle my belle!)

This is the EXACT same reason I'm named Michelle!

The other girl option for me was Rachel. If I were a boy I would have been Daniel or Michael.

My mom thought I was going to be a curly brown-haired boy, and she wanted to name me Herb. Thank God I was born a blonde, straight-haired girl. She wanted to call me Theresa but my dad won with a very strange scandinavian name that no one can pronounce.

My Mom said if I was a boy I would've been Jedidiah. My Dad, on the other hand, says he would've veto-ed it! HA! Thank goodness I wasn't a boy...

If I was a boy they wanted to name me Jedediah and my maternal grandfather actually offered them $500 cash to name me after his mother, Abbigail Melissa Crane.

Instead they chose Elizabeth once I was born.  Although I like the family name, I'm happy with what I have.

My mom wanted to name me "Charmlee".... yuck, thank goodness my dad talked her out of that one and changed to Tanya, whew.

Christopher or Christian. Since I was a girl (obviously) they named me Christina.
