Hi!...and alittle dissapointed.

I'm very new and wanted to throw a "Hello!" out to everyone, instead of just lurking. I'm glad that for the most part the ladies on this board are willing to help each other with questions etc. but am alittle dissapointed in some of the attacks that I have seen. I'm not sure why a confusing post must be attacked immediately, and why the attacks have to be personal. I think it's great that we can be more honest with the degree of anonymity that this site grants us, but can we atleast be nice? Thoughts?

Just wanted to say Hi and Welcome!

Also, my thoughts on this post, are that it is probably not going to be taken very seriously. There are a lot of great woman on this board. You just have to ignore everyone that bothers you. If you are willing to put something on the internet, you are going to have to be willing to take any answers you get.

Hi and welcome. This site is a great place to get information and chat with others similarly situated. That being said, it has some less patient people who see the same types of posts day in and out. This post won't be too popular as you sorta just came into someone's house and said "hi, so glad to be here but this place is kinda crappy." Just try to laugh and move on.

The people that complain about the 'mean girls' are thin skinned and I wonder how they deal with confrontation in real life if they can't handle it on the internet.

Very few people here are actually "mean" anyway. Blunt/opinionated =/= mean.

Hello and welcome. Try to ignore the snarkiness and drama if its not your thing. There are some nice people on this board, and even most of the ones that come off as "snarky" still have a lot of good information and they usually don't get too out of hand unless you're being blatantly stupid/annoying. If I see others getting snarky towards someone else I just try to ignore it, wish the OP well and give my own answer/opinion without getting into fights with anyone. Its worked for me. As others have said, you can't just expect to come in and change the dynamic of the board. If you don't like it you a) ignore it. b) keep trying to call people out and get a LOT of snarkiness in return or c) find a different board thats a little more welcoming to newbs.

I'm sorry you're disappointed in this board. Maybe there's another one out there you can try. If you're willing to stick around, you'll find that there are a lot of great women out there who give good advice and are very helpful. It's just taxing reading the same stuff over and over again.

Thank you for your advice, l will take it. From what i have gathered, thebump has alot of great tools, but i think i'll avoid this forum in the future, and google my questions...google never tells me I'm stupid no matter how stupid my question is;)

I think you have to feel sorry for the people who whether they've been a member for a month, year or however long are on here 24/7. Big difference. Contrary to popular belief I'm not a moron. I understand that the time people spend TTC is different.

Some people confuse puppies and rainbows and glittery fart bombs with common decency. People are on the defensive here quite often and I am sure that if my mother ever heard me talk to someone like that IRL, I would have been slapped sideways into next Tuesday. People get all ballsy on the internet, like it gives them a licence to talk all over people. Prepare to be flamed on every post if it is something someone disagrees with or is repetitive.
