he grilled some chicken thighs last night for himself. I saw one in the fridge and decided to eat it for breakfast, but when I cut into it the middle is very clearly pink and together-y. As in not cooked. DH just asked me why there was a piece cut out of it and I told him I didn't know if it was safe to reheat it or not, so I just put it back in the fridge.
He's pissed at me for not eating food he made. He's done this before with chicken, and it drives me batty. In his defense, he's colorblind, but when I tell him the inside is pink and needs more time he gets offended. He just told me that it's probably the "dark meat" of the thigh and he's not sick from eating it so why do I have to get on a high horse about it? Um, brilliant DH. Whatever you say.
UGH I'm in such a bad mood tonight. Who's got the knife?

Re: um, no DH, chicken does not have "dark meat"
Sorry you're in a bad mood.
Chicken does have dark meat. The legs/wings/thighs are dark meat. Sometimes it is still a pink color when it's cooked. Not to say that his chicken was cooked, though.
He's being a little dramatic about the whole thing, though.

DAMN IT. whatever lol. Dark meat is definitely not pink and raw like this clearly is. And I'm 99% sure dark meat isn't only on the inside of the "white"(cooked) part. Ugh.
Clearly chicken and I do not mix.
I just think you need to dvr a little more Food Network, lol.
You can't have the knife for this one, but you can have the sexy feather tickly thing. It's up to you how you use it, lol.
I love you guys. Now I just feel dumb and am actually laughing at the situation. We're both on edge from the stupid dog and showings and move, DH is sick, and shiit's going down at work.
Nothing like a little BOTB calling me out for my own craziness. Thanks guys. Now I just have to find some way to work an "I TOLD you chicken has dark meat!" into a conversation between DH and I in the near future lol.
LMAO DOOOit!
My DH is colorblind as well - that is why I do all of the grilling. He can't tell subtle color differences, therefore can not tell when chicken or any meat is really done. However, he totally owns this and that is why he makes me do all the grilling.
Sorry about your not done chicken... and that whole dark meat thing.
