I am still EPing since I need to keep track of LO's intake due to poor feeding and weight gain. (Hoping to see a LC to get him on the boob once his weight has stablized) So, here's my question....how to you travel with breast milk? I'm not talking about a vacation but day trips which DH and hope to start taking. Can I pack bottles in the cooler pack and just feed them to him cold? Or do you need to warm them up and if so, how when there may not necessarily be warm water to do so?
Kinda strage question, I know but definalty something I have been thinking about and one of the reasons I have not wanted to venture too far from home up till this point. TIA!!
Re: EPer's..question about traveling with breast milk
This. I just fill a thermos with boiling water and when N starts to get fussy or starts to wake up, I pop the bottle in the [then] warm water and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the temp I think is warm enough.
I travel around with little two ounce storage bottles. I keep them in a small cooler with an ice pack. When it needs to be warmed up I put it in between my boobs or if I am sitting in between my legs. Your body heat will warm it up quickly and to the right temperature.
If I am only going out for a couple of hours (less than 3) then i just prep a bottle before leaving and put it in the diaper bag. Since BM can stay at room temperature for 4-6 hours this makes it very convenient.
