My doctor won't perform mine until week 20-21. I see lots of others finding out sooner. When did you have yours. I want to find out sooner thinking about a elective U/S.
TIA!

Same here. My a/s is the week of July 25. I'll be 20 weeks. I'm ok with waiting. It's a nice mid-pregnancy surprise. We are enjoying talking about boys and girls names for now until we know.
Oh the upside, though, the longer you wait, the more accurate their prediction is. And there's no guarantee the baby will reveal his or her nethers during an elective ultrasound (or any other one, for that matter!)
If we wanted to know, we could have found out at our 20 week appointment when I had the anatomy ultrasound. My doctor didn't want to perform the anatomy scan any sooner than that.
After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011! 7lbs 13oz 20 inches long ">
We didn't have the a/s scan until 20 weeks. We paid $50 for a elective gender scan at 14w2d and found out it' a boy! Totally worth the extra $50 to find out 6 weeks ahead of time!
Ours will be at 20 weeks to the day. It's likely our last ultrasound of the pregnancy, barring a medical complication, so we're glad it's "later" in the process.
My DR gave me the range of anywhere from 18-20 weeks so mine is booked for next week and I will be 18 weeks 5 Days. I guess waiting longer isnt a bad thing cuz you will be better able to tell. Im so anxious!

I called around town to elective ultrasound places to see who would take me the soonest...I was VERY impatient! I went in at about 14 1/2 weeks and found out he's a boy and it was extremely obvious. I believed it for the first couple weeks, then wondered if I got it done too soon but I had my a/s last week and the tech said he's '500% boy' so I'm pretty damn certain now. I'm all for elective ultrasounds. If you go as early as me though, you'll have to get a reg 2d ultrasound. It's too early for the 3d/4d to determine gender. GL!

My doctor wants to wait till 21-23 weeks for the a/s, but I wanted to find out the babies sex for a birthday surprise for my husband so we found out (through an elective u/s) Friday at 17w3d and it was WELL worth the money, one of the best experiences either, we got a dvd of our little one during the u/s and tons of pictures. My husband works all the time, so it was easier to schedule an elective one for his birthday so that he would for sure be there when we were told the sex.
I found out at 19 weeks. But honestly I wouldnt pay for an elective. Finding out earlier isnt going to make the baby come earlier. Just relax and enjoy your time. Plus waiting a little longer makes it more accurate.
We find out next weds! I will be 18 weeks....I sweet talked my Dr into letting me do mine earlier so we could announce the gender to our fam that we will see the week after (we live 17 plus hours away from everyone)

We found out with 99% certainty at our a/s scan at 18 weeks. Our NT scan tech told us that if she had to put money on our little bean's gender she'd go with BOY (and feel pretty darn confident about it) - turns out she would have made a really good bet.
My OB waits for the anatomy scan until 22 weeks. That is a bit later than most but I am fine with it. My brother and his wife had their a/s at 17 weeks and were told their baby most likely had Down's based on the current growth of the baby's heart. For 6 weeks they were planning for a baby with down's syndrome and then told at their next scan the baby was perfectly healthy - no down's!! I am fine with waiting to find out gender until baby is more developed...
I found out mine at 19 weeks. They say that you'll be able to tell after 16 weeks but I wanted to wait to get a clear picture. My friend did hers at 16, was told it was a girl and then later went in to get the spinal measurements redone and it turns out it's actually a boy. It happens!

I found out at 20 weeks with my first, but the doctor I went to this pregnancy does more ultrasounds, so I found out at 17 weeks with this one, but only because he happened to get a good look, if he couldnt have, I wouldnt have found out until 23 weeks.
I felt the same way as you. Waiting is so hard, but it will be well worth the wait!
I found out at 20 weeks exactly. My doctor wouldn't do it any earlier because the earlier you have it done, the easier it is to make a mistake, or not be able to see anything at all.

We found out around 20 weeks.

With my DD, we found out exactly at 20 weeks. My dr wouldn't even guess before that because its too risky to be wrong.
With this LO we won't be finding out, but will have the option at 20 weeks again.
This is my 3rd pregnancy and I found out at week 17. My first I believe was 18 weeks and I cant remember my 2nd. lol
Found out at the a/s today, 18w1d
I was closer to 20 weeks when I found out with my first two children.
I had an elective U/S at 16weeks with no success, my LO was moving around wayyyy too much.
