I saw this on the December 2011 boards and thought it would be a fun idea ![]()
I was bartending for a few months at this place when DH got hired to be a bouncer. He had been eyeing me and decided to ask my boss about me (big mistake: my boss at the time really liked to crack jokes about me) and he told DH that I was a hussy haha.
DH comes up to me to introduce himself to me and then says, "so I hear you are a hussy!" (smooth right?) I just gave him a horrible look and said, "I AM NOT!!" I wouldn't give him my number for over 3 months until I got to know him a little better (guys that work in bars tend to be man whores hahaha)
We had our first date about 4 months after he started working at the bar and the rest is history!!
Re: How did you meet your DH/SO??
A hussy? 1-- thats the best word I've heard in about a week! 2- thats amazing that he'd smoothly ask you up front if it was true!
I was working at Hollister and my gay friend and I were behind the register and I asked who the new guy was... he said my DH's name and asked "Do you think he'll go for you or me?" We had a good laugh.
Well, then DH gave gay friend a ride home from work a couple times so I naturally assumed---that was the team he played for. We started talking at work and hung out a few times, and eventually after he did some hard persuing and won my mom and teacup poodle over--I decided to give him a chance.
I met my husband when we were 18 at a strip club. I went with a couple of my male friends from highschool who were on the schools football team with him. We were introduced and he spent the night feeding me beer and shots trying to get me to go home with him.
I wouldn't give him my number, but I gave him my last name and told him if he wanted to see me again, he could look me up. He called every number in the book until he found me.
How's that for romance?
I was visiting my cousin at college in Chicago the summer before my last semester in Missouri. My DH had gone to high school and college with my cousin, so he came out to the bars with us one night.
After graduation, I decided to move to Chicago and started visiting/staying with my cousin (who would be my roommate) while I interviewed. DH found out and asked if I wanted to go out on one of my interview trips. We talked on the phone until my move was official and then started actually dating two months later.
Burned by the Bear
and people say landlines aren't useful!
DH and I were both 21 at the time (going to be 30 in September) and I was good friends with his cousin. I had never met my DH or even heard of him. We were trying to figure what to do one Saturday night and my friend says that his cousin (my DH) was having a party at his house, so we decided to check it out. We were introduced but I didn't think anything of him at the time. We stayed for awhile and went home.
The next day my friend asked if I wanted to go to a local bar to watch WWE. I could care less for wrestling, but I had nothing better to do. Well his cousin was there and I asked my friend who he was. He said it was his cousin from last night. I was like no way, he looks completely different. I guess people really do look differently during the day, lol. Well I thought he was hot so after we left the bar I called my friend and told him to call his cousin and to give him my number.
Well, my DH called me that night and we talked on the phone for over 4 hours and the rest is history!!!
I never knew I would find the male version of me, but that is exactly who my DH is. We love the same things, we are only 4 days apart, I mean we are just the best of friends and he's the best lover I've ever had. I get teary eyed just thinking about how much I love him. Okay sappiness is over

eharmony... I knew before I met him in person he was someone special.... and I was right! He is by far the best man I know and can compare to my father!
He was the 7th man I met and was ready to not renew my subscription. I was the first woman he met on eharmony.
My aunt was assigned to be DH's counting partner for our church offering. We were going to go somewhere after church, so I went to the office with her. I kinda liked DH, so I would go with her everytime it was her turn. I asked him out eventually and here we are 11 years later.
My coworkers were talking about going to play card games at a local gamer and nerd hangout and I shamelessly invited myself along Most of the guys there aren't used to seeing girls let alone in there so they were sort of stunned. Then this guy in a bunny hat and a shirt that said rainbow recruiter walks up and introduces himself and makes small talk.. Sad to say I stereotyped. I was in a relationship and normally wont talk to super social guys when I am, but I figured since he played for the other team it was safe enough. Soon we were hanging out and I realized I was wrong and that I was becoming attracted to him so I decided to end the friendship. About 6 months later my relationship had ended and I had been dating a bit and focusing on being single. He reached out to me and once again it was an instant connection.
So we started hanging out and in a few months we were engaged and shortly after married. Turns out that we shared quite a few of the same friends and where at a few of the same parties over the years and it just wasn't time for us to meet yet.
My husband stalked me on MySpace
He was bored one night and he started sending messages to random people. I normally wouldn't give a message like that the time of day, but I just happened to respond with "who the heck are you?". Boy I'm glad I did. We started a month-long email thing and then met in person at a mall and totally did the jr. high date. We've been married for 3 years this month.

Our family of 5 is complete!! Love our boys!
Mine is kind of a funny/long story. When I was in high school my mother came home from the grocery store and stated that she saw the most gorgeous guy there. So my sister and I hopped in the car and went to go see. My mother was correct, he was a hottie. But I didn't recognize him and didn't know what school he went to.
My mother then goes into work the next day (at an elementary school in a neighboring town) and the cute guy comes walking in to visit his mom who also worked at the school. They got to talking and my mom showed him a picture of me and he thought I was cute too. However, we were both dating other people at the time and nothing ended up happening.
I then went off to college and joined a sorority. During the Rush process, I got to know some of the girls in the sorority I was interested in joining. One of the girls mentioned that she was from the neighboring town from where I grew up and it ended up being my DH's older sister. She also ended up being my big sister in the sorority. But the brother never ended up coming up to visit so we never had the chance to reconnect.
Then about 2 years ago, I was at a local bar with some of my friends and looked over and there he was. Still as gorgeous as he was in high school. I gave him the eye and he came over and we started talking. We got engaged 4 months later and married a year (to the day) after I first date.
I guessed my mom sensed that he was the right one for me 12 years ago!

Awww...For The Horde!
love this and.. for the Horde indeed!
Sadly we were alliance the first time around. haha! But,we've always been horde the other times.
We've picked up playing for a few months every now and then a few times over the years since we quit in 2006. Our last episode was about Jan-March of this year.
My husband and I met in grade 12 working at the local grocery store. After graduating high school, we both ended up at in the same area for university and started dating. We were both 18 at the time and have been together since then. We're celebrating 11 years together in September :-)
it defintely works. I was matched with DH on March 5, 2008, met April 10, engaged April 27, and we married July 19, 2008. I can't believe how well it has workded for us. I knew I loved him before I met him!!!
I really enjoyed reading everyone's stories!!
DH and I met playing volleyball on the beach....10 years ago this summer.
Oh wow, these are so cute!
We met at a Kathleen Edwards concert. A girlfriend of mine was supposed to be my "date" as I had sworn off dating, but she got sick and couldn't go. I decided that I didn't really want to deal with anyone else and figured I'd enjoy the show much more if I went by myself. So, during the opener, I notice this guy in front of me with a killer a$$, really nice cowboy boots and a great vintage western shirt. He turned around at one point and saw me, though luckily didn't catch me ogling his heiny! Since I'm short, he asked me if I'd like to stand in front of him in order to see a little better. We started talking and it turned out that his buddy was supposed to come with him, but had to cancel at the last minute. We had a beer together and talked for a couple of hours after the show. I was smitten, to say the least! He called his buddy on the way home and told him that he'd met the woman he was going to marry
We met on Eharmony in Sept. 2007. Neither one of us was sure about the other so we went out a few times then I avoided his phone calls. We dated other people for a bit, and a few months later I called him up and we went out a few more times. I still wasn't totally convinced! I started dating someone else again then, in Dec. 2008 I called him again and the third time was it! We dated for about 10 months and he moved in. We got engaged in May 2010 and married on November 27, 2010.
I am lucky he answered my phone call that third time, although he said he had been thinking about me as well and was going to leave a Christmas card on my car one morning. I had been deleted from his cell phone! Hahaha!
It is an interesting and funny story but I am glad I made that last attempt - he is definitely the one for me!
