I know you aren't supposed to wake a sleeping baby, but I'm worried that ds doesn't wake us up when he is hungry. At his 1 month check-up pedi said not to let him go more than 5 hours at night without feeding. He is a noisy sleeper and grunts/squeals/squeaks/groans alot in his sleep but he never actually wakes up and cries. Ds is 6 weeks now. I let him go six hours once to see if he would wake up and he didn't. Do you think it's possible that he is just not hungry yet? Should I continue waking him or wait longer to see if he wakes me?
Re: "Don't wake him, he'll wake you"
Scarlett slept that long at 1 month old. Actually, she slept 5-6 hours at a time from the start. However, we were only told to wake her up until our 2 week check up because she had gained weight and was past her birth weight at that point. She continued to gain weight at a healthy pace, so we never went back to waking her. She is also bottle-fed breastmilk.
Talk to your pedi about how she's gaining and if she's having enough wet/dirty diapers.
Honestly, at 1 month, if she was gaining properly, I'd stop waking, but that's me.
