We live in a town home and bedrooms are upstairs. We do have central air conditioning, which works wonderful downstairs but not so great upstairs. I'm sure it was in the 80's in our room last night, with a/c on, ceiling fan on max and a tower fan on max. I put baby down in just a diaper and he still felt warm. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep baby cool at night time when it's this hot outside?
TIA
Re: Room temperature? It's 105 outside, how to keep baby cool?
Thank you for writing this. I've been insane about temperature and I'm not sure why. LO seems fine but for some reason I'm obsessing over it.

we live in az, so it's at least 105 outside right now. we keep the a/c running at 80
but our room, which the baby is in with us right now, gets really warm in the am, since it's east facing
basically all i do is just keep baby in a t shirt and a diaper or just a diaper at night. during the day she is usually sleeping with a light blanket and she's fine.
i actually asked my ped about how to handle the heat with a newborn since this is our first summer in az, and she basically said the same thing. stay in the shade, don't go out when it's high heat which for us is between 11-2.
i asked about what signs to look for with dehydration in a nb and she said, lack of wet diapers, and dry lips...
Brilliant, thanks for the information, thats very helpful! We've been camping out inside the last few days, can't wait till it cools down a bit so we can go for a walk!!!
