Our girls came home a week ago and they have been using the 2 oz white ring bottles from the hospital. They take 2 oz almost every feed and sometimes want more so we need to transition to a real bottle. We bought several varieties to try but the girls don't seem able to use them. We have tried the tommy tippee, born free and nuby, all slow flow nipples. The girls just seem exhausted using these and don't finish their food. What type of bottle did u find that worked well for your lo? Should we try a faster flow nipple? TIA.
Re: Bottles?
I used Dr Brown's bottles with a preemie nipple for a long time.
ditto
Our speech pathologist told us to try a bottle for 16 straight feedings to know whether or not its a good match. you have to give LO a chance to learn that bottle. That being said, while Sam was in the NICU, they had me bring in bottles. He used: Mam, Born Free, Ventaire, Tommee Tippee, evenflo (alot like those hospital bottles), Nuk, Nuby, Adiri, Breastflow, Playtex Drop-ins with silicone naturalatch nipples, Dr. Browns....
He came home using the Drop-ins, transitioned to the Evenflo and now uses Dr. Brown's exclusively for milk and Evenflo or Born Free for juice. If you have the resources, meet with a speech pathologist/therapist. They can determine a plan for you.
I literally have a huge Rubbermaid tote with over 80 bottles.
Feeding issues kept us from coming home.
Totally not being a snark here... but why are you giving your 4 month act/1 month adj. juice? I didn't think you were supposed to give them anything until 6 months?

Prune juice would be my guess. Some babies have to take it.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

I give LO prune juice too, but not enough for special bottles. I was just curious!
My MARRIED Bio
Prune juice or pear juice for constipation issues. Much better than giving him a suppository twice weekly. We use special bottles because the speech pathologist says its good for him to learn different nipples and styles of sucking, Since we only give 1 oz of juice a day, we use a different bottle once a day to help him train that mouth of his.
