My hubby will only change pee diapers but won't change poopy diapers.  he says he is not a fan of feces.  What will yours change?

  • I'd never heard of this until TB. I never for a second thought that a parent would just NOT change diapers. It literally just never occurred to me.

We both do diapers, both pee and poop. The only thing I have on H is that I spray out our poopy CD, and he WOULD do it if I asked. I've just never had to.

  • Not a fan of feces? LOL If my husband told me that I'd contemplate laughing at him, or hitting him. not an excuse to not change his childs poopy diaper. DH Changes diapers, bathes DD, puts her to sleep...everything that I do.

Sh!t is a fact of life.

  • Oh yes he does.

I wasn't a huge fan of childbirth, using a squirt bottle to clean myself, and sore nipples either. Or feces, really.

  • Of course. Again, he LOVES feces, so that's probably why.

If he needs to (like if I'm gone) he will do what he has to. Otherwise it's usually my job. I think DH has changed less than 10 diapers since she's been born.

I SAH though and in his defense she usually doesn't need to be changed when he's home.

  • I change all the poopy diapers, cause I am a huge fan of feces.

    See how stupid that sounds?

My DH changes both. He is with her during the day often. Today he got a surprise poo and got it all over the crib, her and the blankets.....sucks to be him.

  • Not a fan of feces, huh? I think I would throw a diaper full of feces at my H if he said that to me. We both change pee and poop diapers. My H is also the president of the clean the poop out of the tub committee in our house.

  • Seriously?! What if you are out of the house and the kid poops while he has the baby? He's going to wait until you get back to change the shiiity diaper? Confused

  • This would not fly in my house.  The first one to touch the child during or after the incident changes the diaper.

Edit:  My husband would never get away with the feces comment since he is right at this moment performing a colonoscopy on someone.  That just makes me laugh for some reason.

We both do, but if we're both home 9 times out of 10 I'll be changing DD. I really don't mind doing it at all (even the dirty diapers), and in all honesty I do a much better job. ;)

He will only ever change a diaper if I'm not around.

Mason is in day care during the day and I have not had to leave the baby.  My MIl stayed with us for a while and gave me a break.

  • I change every 3 to 5 hours.  Thank god we did not switch to Cds! I would have been screwed doing all that by myself.  Mike is usually home with us for about 4 hours a night.  I get home first.

  • DH and I handle poopie diapers as a team (we both work full time and DS mostly poops in the middle of the day) since DS is very squirmy. There is nothing worse than opening up a diaper to find a huge mess and then DS starts trying to crawl across the room!

Whenever there is poop, one of us yells "we got poop" and the other one comes running to help out.

  • DH changes either, has never complained about it.  Nobody LIKES changing poopy diapers, but that comes with the territory of being a parent.  In fact, when I was still in the hospital after having DD, DH changed all of the nasty meconium diapers since I'd had a c-section and had a hard time getting in and out of bed.

There isn't daycare on weekends. Every mom needs time away from baby. I suggest you do that. He will have no choice but to change poop diapers.

  • I do the majority of the diaper changes, but I don't really mind.  If DH flat out refused to change poopy diapers I would not tolerate it.

    amen!

on the weekends i like to check the diapers before i change them to make sure mh gets his fair share of poop diapers as he is rarely home to change any during the week.

  • Poops are a two person job so we tag-team them.  We both change the pee diapers.

  • He changes diapers all the time.  Sometimes I have to ask him, but most of the time he'll change them on his own.

however long the night, dawn will break.

  • I do all of the diaper changing in our house. I SAH and by the time DH gets home, it's LO's bedtime. He has probably changed a handful of diapers in her lifetime. He would never refuse though.

  •  I never gave him a choice.  Those first few weeks we even had a rule that I was in charge of input, he was in charge of output.  His only complaint about changing diapers is that DS refuses to hold still.
