Heard the Heartbeat with a good ol" fashioned stethascope

I work at a dental office and decided to try to hear the heartbeat with a stethascope. To my surprise they work pretty good!  Its a fun and easy way to hear the heartbeat without having to buy/ rent a doppler

  • I might try that tomorrow.  I occasionally use the ultrasound machine, but it is in the surgery suite that is used most the day.

  • I'm a physician assistant and brought home my stethoscope and both my DH and myself haven't been able to hear the heart beat yet.  I'm 18 weeks and 6 days.  We're still in search of that LO's heart beat besides the Doppler at the ob!

Huh- I never thought to do that. I'll have to give it a shot.

  • I tried this with my last pregnancy and never had any luck.  I could only find MY pulse in my abdomen.  Maybe I will have to give it a try this time around.
