  • I see absolutely nothing wrong with piercing a babys ears or painting their toenails (as long as they aren't sucking on their feet). I think it looks cute and if the parents want to its their decision. It's not like either is permanent.

LOL, I feel ya. I have terrible road rage and get pissed with slow idiot drivers. And if someone cuts me off I"m not afraid to flip them the bird. If I have to wait in line because the lane it merging so does everyone else. I have been known to put my truck in the middle of the two lanes so people won't try to cut ahead of everyone trying to merge who have waited their turn.Devil

  • I have purposefully dodged old friends that wanted to get together with me, or stopped from making new friends, if they were skinnier and shorter than me. I'm not a giant, ('m 5' 7.5") but one of my very good friends from way back when has been wanting to get together with me again for a LONG time. I never commit cause she's 5' 1" and tiny. I feel like Goliath's sister next to her. I feel horrible about it, but I can't help it. Embarrassed

I am just curious, but how is ear-piercing not permanent? I have left earrings out of my 1st holes for years and they haven't remotely grown back in. And, same with the 2nd holes. It was the 3rd holes that grew back in.

I am not disagreeing with you on the issue necessarily or flaming...but I am just wondering how this isn't a permanent change?

i Do this too!! And I can't stand people who can't use their blinkers!!! Really?!? Is it that difficult to lift the lever up or down? Really?! Then, maybe you shouldn't be driving.  I can't stand stupid, inconsiderate drivers!

I don't see it as permanent since you don't have to wear earrings if you don't want to. Yes, the holes may not close up, but there is nothing forcing you to wear earrings if you don't want to.

FWIW, I don't see anything wrong with piercing a baby's ears as an infant. We would have done it if we were having a girl.

I have had a donut every day for 3 weeks now :( I would normally justify this by saying that after the weight loss- my dr. said it was ok to eat anything that I can keep down. Ok, yes, this is true. But, the fact is, I tried donuts and not something healthier. lol. I need to try some better things. But, once I find something I can keep down, I just eat it non-stop.

Also, this week I had to be at a 6 hour meeting every day until today, with minimal breaks...well instead of the donuts...I bought a bag of munchkins and ate them from under the table.

I don't think every time you get something pierced that the hole stays. I guess I didn't think of others lol I'm just thinking of my experience where having holes that closed up after having them pierced for a long time.

Me too with the ketchup, seriously! Largely because all I was eating was potatoes for a while...but I seriously love it right now and would put it on anything. My doc said that the vinegar helps settle the stomach with m/s...so if you had m/s- maybe that got you on the ketchup kick.

I have absolutely no "real" work to do today and all of the leaders are out of town for an off-site conference...so I am sitting here in my jeans and old navy zip up at my desk with about 5 different baby shopping websites up, my ipod playing, some thank you cards out that I need to write...yeah you get the picture.

We did something similiar. I found the Britax convertible car seat on albeebaby.com for $80 less so my mom bought it as one of my shower gifts. But I'm leaving the carseat on my registry to do exacty what you mention, or to actually keep it so we have a second one down the road and don't have to buy another when he grows out of the infant bucket seat.

Well, Pina...I understand where you're coming from. But research shows that after recent studies of how to properly debate an opinion, it is best to provide the other party a source in which they can establish their grounds...I found these studies on www.you've-got-too-much-spare-time-on-your-hands-to-hunt-this-down-on-the-internet.com Stick out tongue ha

Can I add a second? It just came to me.

I really hate it when people eat weird, smelly items in meetings or class- anywhere where people are confined and have no choice but to be stuck, subjected to your smelly food.

Especially, when this is a 1-2 hour meeting. Come on you can wait. (FWIW- my donut consumption yesterday was a 6 hour meeting).

But, my example, is during this meeting all of the sudden I smelled hard-boiled eggs. I turned behind me and the lady running the meeting actually had a carton of a dozen eggs, hard boiled, and was cracking them off the side of a desk, shelling them and eating them!!! Aside from the smell, this was just plain weird. The next day, she was ripping deli meat from the bag and eating it with her hands. At least bring the eggs shelled...who cracks them off a desk?

Obviously, she is on atkins or south beach...and I respect that. But, that is a weird thing to do in a meeting. And, I just think it is wrong to subject people to smelly things like hard boiled eggs or tuna in a classroom or meeting!

(No, I'm not going to say anything to give up that I know, I'd feel terrible! I just hate surprises that make me the center of attention.  I feel really lucky to have a BFF and DH who would go to all this trouble to make me feel so special though!)

Yep. And I say this as someone who bums around the naming board. Hey, I may not need people's opinions on my awesome, awesome name, but I'm happy to give them mine on whatever trainwreck they've concocted if they ask for it ;-)

On that note, the idea of "sibsets" is God-awful to me. Like it matters if your kid's names "go together," whatever the hell that means. First of all: they're children, not accessories. They don't have to match. Second of all: chances are, the names you like will be similar, since you like them both. Third of all: unless you name one kid Isabella Sophia and another Fartface McWeenerbratzen, your kids names won't clash.

Agreed on the sibsets. Not to mention...most of these people will spend most of their lives away from their siblings- in work or school, in other circles. So why does it matter? You only use their names together while they are little.

  • Last one before I go out shopping again (guess that's a confession in itself).....

I hate how my baby belly has become a safety hazard lately.  I know, it's only going to get worse.  Several times a day I find myself bumping into things and poking my belly with corners and chairs.... it's becoming quite annoying.  I actually have to lift my belly up and over the sink to brush my teeth without spitting on myself.  My DH caught me doing it the other day and found it quite comical....

  • I still give my 21 month old a bath in the infant bathtub in our kitchen sink... It's so ridiculous, he's way too big for it... But our bathroom has a claw foot tub and it KILLS my back to bathe him in there. A shower for me is one of the few luxuries I have being alone and refuse to share it... So baby tub it is, lol. DH travels so often its hard for me to give him this job.
