I see absolutely nothing wrong with piercing a babys ears or painting their toenails (as long as they aren't sucking on their feet). I think it looks cute and if the parents want to its their decision. It's not like either is permanent.

No flaming...you know I love my TTGP girls. However, I know a woman that pierced her little boys' ears and I think that is simply awful.

    That's just strange to me.

I agree with the poster that said they don't consider ear piercing as permanent because you can choose wear earrings or not. Whether they grow back or don't grow back, it's just a tiny harmless hole. I've honestly never met someone who's said, "man I sure wish I would have never pierced my ears and was left with this tiny hole to deal with."  Not sure if I'd pierce my baby's ears or not, but I don't see what the big deal is.

My FFFC: This makes me sound pretty bad, but I am just slightly worried my own child will get on my nerves. I love babies but find kids extremely annoying. Embarrassed

If you can find a single parent who doesn't get annoyed by their children, madam, I will give you a shiny nickle.

I say this as a first time mom myself, so wtf do I know, but I get the impression that a lot of us are like "Yeah, it's going to be hard work, but I'm going to stare lovingly in my baby's eyes and always know the hard work is worth it."

I think this will be the first myth to be shattered. Parents who don't get annoyed by their kids or doubt themselves, etc at least sometimes, just do not exist.

I love my son in a way that is totally indescribable, however, there are days that I want to sell him to anyone for a shiny nickel. Any takers?

Since i deleted too far.. oh well anyhow..I may or may not have made comments regarding mailing my child to abudabe .. but I will say it is sooooooo different when it is your kid..that said they are still children they push boundries and throw fits.. but nature has created a way to make us leave them alive :)

I also wonder why the hell people post certain things on this board. Like when a person with 30 posts who has a ticker maybe but no pics to recoginize this poster comes on and says "Oh It's a boy!" Um, sorry but who are you? Seriously I really don't care that a stranger that has never introduced themselves to us is having a boy. congrats

I have no pics in my siggy for privacy reasons, so while I post here and there on several boards I'm sure no one knows or recognizes me. I don't care if they do or not, and I'll keep posting anyway. You're free to not care about what people who haven't formally introduced themselves post, and we're free to continue to post whatever we want :)

Agreed. I don't feel that I should be "kicked out of the club" just because I only get on here every few weeks and don't post much!

No one is saying you should be kicked out of the club. But it is a little strange to announce you are having a boy to a group of strangers, don't you think? Do what you want, post what you want, she was just saying she doesn't get it.

  • My first ever FFFC!!! About 4 months ago my younger sister got an underage ovi, she's 20. She got caught because she was asleep at the wheel, foot on the brake, at a red light. I was so pissed at her for being so irresponsible. Said and done she got 6months probation and did 3 days at a hotel where they do lectures, ect. Well here we are a few months later and she's out at bars and clubs doing it all over again. So the confession.... I hope she gets caught breaking her probation so she learns her lesson and stops being a spoiled brat who could get away with murder. Also, since getting my iPhone, I have been on tb way way more than I should, but I just can't help it!

One thing I am dreading after having the baby is the amount of time my mother in law will be at my house. I can already see me ranting to DH after she leaves "IT'S MY BABY, NOT HERS".

She lives 2 minutes up the road.

Same. DREAD. Sometimes it plagues me. I try to think of positives, like trips to the gym or shopping if I want, leaving her and DH home with baby, but mostly, just I want to cry my eyes out at the thought of the visits. There will be so many.

My MIL always calls and asks how 'her baby' is. I tell her that Jim (my H) is fine. He's her baby. James is MY baby. She needs to get that sh!t straight.

I secretly envy people who's IL's live far, far away. China would not be far enough away for my MIL.

Yes Love it. I'll have to remember that one.

I posted this in UO yesterday, but I was late so i'm gonna post it here too because it bugs me so much!

    1. Who really cares about the definition of "natural birth", worry about your own baby in your own body and your own labour.  Then call it whatever the hell you want to.  As long as you and your baby are healthy, why the hell does it matter what other people are calling their labour?

    2. Sometimes I worry that the Americans on the board think I'm weird for spelling things the Canadian way. ex: "labour"

Me too- on #2!! Sometimes I use the US spelling just so people don't think that I don't know how to spell!

I think it?s hilarious when someone farts when they first sit down to go to the bathroom. I actually laugh out loud. It?s so embarrassing, I can?t help but laugh. I would probably die right there on the toilet if it happened to me (I hope I didn?t just jinx myself).  I also usually rush out to tell my DH about it too. He laughs, but has seen and heard much worse. Recent example: Random Asian guy washing his d!ck at the sink in the mall restroom. WTH?

    I think I just peed a little

I don't think this is very funny...because that is me in the stall next to you farting. LOL. I have to squeeze my cheeks real hard when I go in public just to try and make it a quiet one before I can start peeing. Embarrassed

The whole d!ck washing thing is just outrageous... No shame.

I think its ridiculous to ask internet strangers what you think of your potential baby name. When you get down to it, its yours and Dh's decision...nobody elses.

Amanda you are so right on today...the baby name thing I think is kinda dumb too.

I will pierce my baby girls ears and I will paint her toenails/finger nails.

  • I've always had bigger friends growing up, I was/still am a toothpick compared to them. I take pride in my body type and the fact that I don't have to work at my body very much. With that being said, I am probably the most active out of my friends and when I hear them talk about dieting it disgusts me because they complain but won't stick to anything. I offered to work out with them (because I enjoy it) and they always have some sort of excuse. Well, DH and I are looking into bridesmaids dresses for my friends for up vowel renewal coming up (LOL in 2015!!) anyways, he says why are you looking at those skinny girls?? You need to go to plus size girls. While he's true, I kinda felt good that he pointed out the obvious and I didn't feel so bad.

Also, I got a clear picture of my daughter's girly area at our elective scan and was really looking forward to my A/S to double check!! F'n doctor and his 30 Wk scan. Atleast it's before the shower if she turns to a he =$

ETA: I will paint my daughters toes as long as she isn't sucking on them and I will pierce her ears as soon as possible. I'd rather do it early on. She will wear the PETITE flower headbands not the outrageously large ones right up until her head is big enough for the big flowers.

lol you two are funny. I actually don't really notice the spellings because I am so used to it, half of the owner's I speak/communicate with on a daily basis live in Canada.

  • This is going to sound horrible... I am really excited for September, but I can't stop thinking about how much fun I used to have before I got pregnant. I know once LO is here I won't even miss it, but I just can't stop thinking about it.

I try my hardest not to giggle at the pre-pee squeakers, I promise!

Although one time I was in a stall next to a lady who was taking a massive poo but had the decency of doing a few courtesy flushes. I thought "what a nice lady" until she yells out "IF YOU GOTSA POOOOP YOU GOTSA FLUSH!!!!!". Uhh yeah we knew what you were doing, you didn't need to announce it.

  • I ate terribly yesterday.  I had sugary cereal for breakfast, a hotdog and a half for lunch, a Choco Taco for dessert, then I bought some gummy watermelon rings and ate almost all of those, and topped it off with pizza for dinner.  Ugh awful, yet oh so delicious.  Working on eating much better today.

On the topic of your own kids annoying you.... DS was terrible on Wed.  Just so annoying and dragging his feet while I was trying to get us out of the house.  Then when we got home later I was changing him and he was looking at my arm and asked what was on it.  I said it was a Beauty mark.  And he said "Oh Mama, you are beautiful, I love you, Happy Mother's Day"  And all was forgiven.  He randomly likes to wish me a Happy Mother's Day.  I don't get how toddlers can shift back and forth between sweet and Devil's Spawn so easily.

I get that - I guess I'm just a little tired of the "our groups runs this board so only people we know can post" mentality all over the Bump. Like I said, I don't have anything in my siggy besides tickers for privacy reasons. Doesn't make me any less of a poster than someone else. And really, for the most part we're all just internet strangers (excluding those who have IRL relationships) so why does it matter so much?

Eh, maybe I'm just cranky today :P

I'm tired of people saying their fetus tested positive for Downs Syndrome.  No it didn't.  It's not a positive/negative test.  It's just increased risk, and most of the time, it isn't even that high.  I'm also annoyed at their doctors letting them leave the office thinking their kid definitely has Downs.  My midwives explain the capabilities of every test to me, and they carefully explain the results of each test.  Maybe I'm just lucky?  But if they didn't, I would ask or look it up, because I like knowing stuff.  The more you know . . .
    . Totally agree!
