  • I love my family, I swear I do. But the next person to tell me what to do is gonna get punched in the face. I can't force this baby out, so stop telling me to. I know you think walking and sex and this and that will induce labor. You have told me many many times. STFU please and wait for ME to call YOU. If I send you a text, obviously I'm too busy to talk on the phone, that's why I texted you instead of calling. So why do you call me back to reply to my text? Grrrrrrrrr

I am tired of people telling me STILL what I can and cannot do. Yesterday my best friend told me I cannot wear a bikini at the beach and put sunscreen on my belly because of the baby. I flipped on her and told her its my body and if I decide to put on sunscreen and drink a beer while I am at it I will! And yes, I wore that bikini and looked damn good too!

  • I don't have anything unpopular to say...

The only things on my mind are things that just p*ss me off.  Like swollen feet, 0 dilation, and a doc who will probably mention c-section again today.

I'm sick of pumping, sick of DH staring at my boobs, and soooo sick of hearing him talk about being tired when he sleeps all night while I get up with Lila! Maybe not a UO but I needed to say it!

We didn't want to start the habit either, but if he needs it, he needs it.  We only give it to him when he clearly needs to suck, or if we catch him with his thumb in his mouth.  When we give it to him, we give it to him just long enough to soothe him and the second he stups sucking on it we take it out.

We also hope we aren't starting a habit.

my DH does this too- it's kinda funny.  He will say things like "I know you're not interested and they probably hurt and I can't touch them, but your boobs look good".

We don't have an outside baby yet, but I am so sick of DH telling me he is tired. I get up like 10 times a night, it takes forever for me to fall asleep, then after about 5am, I give up. Essentially I've gotten a whole 3 hours of sleep or less for the last 2 weeks when he snores through the night.

The only things on my mind are things that just p*ss me off.  Like swollen feet, 0 dilation, and a doc who will probably mention c-section again today.

    Why c section?

He's been telling me since my 8w appt that my pelvis is narrow and the way my cerivx is he thinks I will end up c-section...."but he could be wrong."  So he pretty much brings it up at every appointment.  Lately he says "we could induce, but chances are about 50% you'll end up c-section.  Blah blah blah I'm a d*ck.  We could also look into elective c-section if you don't dilate, since you'll likely end up there anyway, even if we induce. Blah blah blah."

I am pretty sure he just wants to cut me open.

I don't understand this mentality at all. Babies need to suck to be soothed. I give Eliza a pacifier because she needs it so she doesn't suck on her thumb, fingers, or my boob. I really don't think at this point its a habit. At a year its a habit. But you can start weaning when they are able to self-soothe. So about 6 months.

  • I also don't really think giving a newborn a pacifier is a problem, as long as you make sure you're feeding the baby when s/he's hungry and not just using it to shut it up.

I think trying to schedule a baby at this point is an exercise in frustration for everyone. I sort of think only the Babywise cult members would try.

I still have some weight to lose, but I'm blaming 3 or 4 lb on these enormous knockers.

I think part of it is that if they are sucking they are breathing. They can't suck if they don't have air. The LC at the hospital told me I shouldn't freak out about Eliza's nose looking like its covered because if she's sucking she is getting enough air. I still try not to let her nose get very covered when I nurse her. I don't want to take any chances.

we got this pacifier in a swag bag from a open house at a eco baby store and it's the only one Ben will take.  I bought some of the soothies that are "the pacifier hospitals prefer" and he spits it as far as he can.

They do smell a little weird and they're not cute, but he likes them.

I don't know if they're spendy or not, but I'm going to have to get a couple more in case we loose this one.
