I don't even like it for a boy.

  • I'm asking because I met a female Austin recently. I'd never heard it as a girl's name. I'm pretty indifferent, though. I don't really love or hate it.
  • I could see Austen. Maybe.
  • DS1 is friends with a little girl named Austin-Leigh.  She's adorable so I like it by association.

  • My sister has a friend named Austyn (not a fan of the spelling) and she's a cute girl, so I actually like it!
  • I love traditionally boy names for girls!  Although, our daughter will be Sophie. Lol
  • Strongly dislike for a girl!

  • It's all boy to me and not even a good boy name.

  • I don't love it or like it, nor do I hate it though because my niece is named Austin.  I tolerate it because my sister-in-law (my niece's mom) passed away shortly after Austin was born so it's her one living legacy that she gave.

  • I voted "hate it".  I am not even a fan of names that can go either way (Taylor, etc), but even less of a fan of clearly boy names on girls.  Sorry!
  • I'm typically very against this trend.  However I know a female Austin IRL and it's always worked great for her.  So, I'm in different.

  • My name was Austin for a few days of my life and then my parents decided to switch it to an even more boy name, Bobi. I wish they would have stuck with Austin, honestly.

Those were my exact words when I read the post.

  • IMHO, it is a boy's name only, but I have known a few female Austens (after Jane Austen) IRL, and I can at least follow that logic.
