Yes to watching her for short periods, girls nights and days on end. I am not trying to be snarky, but I would never had married someone who was not going to be a full partner in ALL aspects of our marriage, including caring for OUR children.

  • DH has stayed with DD plenty during the day for long periods of time. He has not had her overnight but that is simply because the situation doesn't present itself very often. I did go an a girls' weekend last year but DH had to work for part of the time so they both just spent the weekend at my IL's house. To be completely honest, I am sure the idea of staying overnight or a long weekend is fairly terrifying for my DH but that is his personality more than anything. He does great with her and would do an overnight if I asked him to.

I am completely comfortable with him being with her. Although DH doesn't always do things the way I would, I know DD is safe, fed and having fun.

  • Yes and yes.  I have only gone out for the evening though, never even over night.  But of course we would both be fine if I did and he kept DS.  Most likely the would end up at FIL and MILs house for awhile or at least to dinne with them.  Even if I am gone for a few hours they do that!  Which is fine, but I think is funny that he doesn't come up with something else for one-on-one time with DS.
