SAHMs.. what do you eat during the day???

i'm having a hard time thinking of things to cook just for myself and/or my 3.5 y.o. SD... i always make a meal for her but i'm not a fan of mac n cheese and hot dogs :) so i'm wondering what i could make to keep myself sustained while BFing.

any suggestions would be appreciated!!

tia!

  • I eat salads, sandwiches, leftovers and cereal.

  • Best thing I've found is eating leftovers. Make extra food at dinner time so that all you have to do it pop a dish in the microwave the next day at lunch time.

  • We usually have no-cook lunches, and it's easier to make the same lunch for both DS and I, rather than making 2 different meals. We often have wraps (tons of veggies, easy spreads like hummus or pesto, cheese, leftover grilled chicken slices, etc), hearty soups, yogurt or cottage cheese, fruits or veggies. Grilled cheese is easy to make as are pizza bagels.

I also try to keep easy and healthy snacks handy, like hard boiled eggs, prewashed fruit and veggies in small containers, rice cakes and peanut butter, etc. I also loved having kashi golean bars handy during the first few weeks of bfing (I make my own granola now though). Some weeks I make a batch of hummus for the week too.

It works best for me to figure out what we're gonna eat the next day the night before. That way I can plan ahead before we're hungry and it's easier to make and clean up while the LOs are sleeping.

  • I mostly eat tuna sandwiches or PB&Js, canned soups, or leftovers for lunch.  I always eat cereal (Grape nuts with a banana thrown in) for breakfast.  My snacks are usually some sort of fresh fruit, hummus and crackers, or greek yogurt with berries added.  It's all super quick, easy, and healthy.

  • I eat a lot of cereal, pb&j's, and occasionally some ramen (I don't use the seasoning. I add vinagrette, parm. cheese, and a little pepper). I always have hummus on hand, as well as hard boiled eggs.

can I come over your house? yum!

  • For Breakfast I eat cereal or yogurt and a banana. For lunch I have a salad or sandwich and then I have fruit as a snack. For dinner I'm by myself because my husband is at work so I make some eggs with a salad or I buy some chicken and cook that up.

  • Cottage cheese and fruit! I eat cottage cheese for breakfast and lunch everyday. But walmart was completely sold out when I went for groceries yesterday so I bought lunch meat and rolls for quick, one handed nutrition.
