S/O kick counts...

I don't do them.

I feel him kick every now and again all day and everyday at 11:30pm there is a dance party or step competition inside my uterus.

  • I don't do them either. And was never instructed to, anyway.

Me neither.  I tried to do them one night when LO was being oddly inactive, but I kept falling asleep and losing count! Smile

  • Ditto to this. My Dr. hasn't asked me to do kick counts, possibly because I've mentioned how active LO is. They're going to be monitoring me pretty closely anyways now, since they started me on meds for GD... I'll be doing a non-stress test once a week.

I don't either. Then again, my doctor hasn't asked me to. I'm always asked if I have good movement, and I do. I feel the babe quite often and have a dance party around 8:30/9:00 every night. It's actually my favorite time of night because the Mr. puts his hand on my belly just to feel the dancing. :)

  • I never do either. Usually if it's been long enough for me to consider, there's a fury in my belly, and I have to laugh at the need.

  • Never have done them ever. I know what is usual as far as how much movement I feel day to day (and the times of day that are the busy vs quiet times).

If I honestly feel I haven't felt the usual amount, I drink some soda or juice and lay down for a minute. That usually works.

This.  My doctor just said to call if I notice any decrease in movement.  Luckily for me this little guy is crazy active so I've never worried about it.

  • I've been told to just make sure I feel movement throughout the day.

  • My doctor never told me to do them. At my last appointment I saw a different OB in the practice and she asked me how they were going. I told her I feel the baby a lot, so I don't do them. She told me I should start. I haven't - that's just something else for me to worry about and since my doctor didn't seem to think they're necessary, I'm sure it's fine. I'm well aware of my baby girl and her movement - I suppose if I thought there was a problem, then maybe I'd do them.
