I happen to work with one other girl who is pregnant. We are both due in July. She is due three weeks earlier than me and this is her second child. Naturally, her bump is much bigger than mine based on those two significant differences. It seems many of our coworkers think it is fine to comment that "wow your bump is so much smaller than X's." One even asked if I was worried that mine was so much smaller?! Why would you say something like that in the first place? I'm so tired of being polite and explaining to each individual who says something along these lines that "guess what... people tend to show earlier with their 2nd+ pregnancies!"

Re: Vent: The dreaded "too small" comparison/comment
I can't win either. With my first pregnancy, a random jogger actually asked me if my baby was okay because I looked so small for seven months.
With this pregnancy, a random dad at the playground said, "Wow, July? That long to go?" while eyeing my belly critically as though it were the Chrysler Building.
The world is full of princes.
This is so true! I think I would faint if a woman actually had an encounter where someone told them "You look like you are right on track with your size! That is great!"
HA that made me laugh. Lately I've been telling people the # of weeks I am, rather than the due date, because I think people don't realize how close the beginning of July actually is. And it irritates me to see the deer in headlights look when I tell them and they think it's centuries away.
