If attending a birthday party for a 1 year old, is it a good idea to bring a little something for a 2 1/2 year old sibling?
I would hate to have the older boy's feelings hurt and he's probably too young to understand why he's not getting presents too.

No, I wouldn't.
If it were my kid, I might, but just friends, no.
No. DD understand even at 2 that when she attends a birthday party, she takes a gift and does not receive one. She gets gifts on her birthday.
Plus, I've never really been to a birthday party where there hasn't been some sort of goody bag, so the sibling would have that.
