How much did you weigh as a newborn?

Let's think about the possibilities of how big/little our babies might be when they're born... Both my hubby & I are average height, with no outstanding "tallness" in the family.

I was 11 lbs. 14 oz. at birth....I sure as heck hope my baby isn't that large! My hubby was average weight (he doesn't exactly know, but he was somewhere in the 6.5-8 lb. range).

Anyone feeling nervous of having a big baby based off genetics?

I was 8lbs 14 oz, (second child)

DH was 8 lbs. 10 oz (second child)

Jack was 7 lbs, 1oz (first child, born at 38 weeks 1 day)

I am assuming this one will be bigger, but Im not really nervous about it by any means. It will get out one way or another!

I was 17 days late and 10lbs2oz.

My brother was a week early and 9lbs5oz.

I'm reallly hoping this baby isn't that big.

I weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz., DH was around high 6, low 7's but his mom did smoke so I'm sure that had something to do with his weight. We are both pretty average height. DH is pretty stocky though, he has the body of a hockey player.

I was 7 lbs 8 ozs and my first two children's father weighed 7 lbs 2 ozs. Funny thing.. my DD was 7 lbs 8 ozs and my DS was 7 lbs 2 ozs. Stick out tongue My DH weighed 6 something so we shall see what this LO weighs..

DH and I are both average height.

I was 1 week overdue, 6lbs 7oz, (first child), my brother was a week early, 7lbs 1oz

DH was 8lb 6oz, (first child), his brother was 9 lbs (and is now 6'3")

Hoping I have smallish babies like my mom did-lol!

I was 9lbs and some ounces (second child). DH was 5lbs 10oz, but he is a twin and was 3 weeks early.

I am fully preparing myself for a larger baby knowing that I was so big! I am hoping that it will end up somewhere between DH and I, but not holding my breath.

I was 9 pounds even. And I was super long, like 22 inches or something. Dh was a little baby, I forget how much he weighed. But he was little and short ;]

I do worry we are going to have a huge baby (at least a very long baby) because DH is 6'5.

I was 23 inches long when I was born but I am only 5ft 2 inches now, but my sister is 5ft 10inc and she was only 19 inches at birth. So you never know!

DH was 6lbs 7oz and I was 7lbs even (2weeks 2 days late!) but my mom chained smoked with me so I have no idea what a normal size baby would be for her.

Yikes I wish I had a better idea of what size our baby is gonna be!

I am a twin, was a week late and weighed 6lbs 4oz, DH was over 13lbs!!! Not sure if DH was late, early, or on time.

I'm short, 5'2", and DH is average at 5'10". I'm pretty comfortable we'll have an average baby, maybe somewhere between 7 and 9 lbs.

I've read that the size of the baby takes after the mother's side of the family, so we'll see.

I honestly have no idea, I just know babies in my family tend to be large! My sister has 2 boys and a girl and each one was well over 9 lbs. at birth! Luckily, her labors were quick (under an hour, even with #1) so I hope to follow that!

I was like 8lbs 7oz, DH was like 10lbs!!

My 1st was 7lbs 3oz -8 days early

My 2nd was 7lbs 10oz- 2 days late

So i think it really has no bearing whatsoever because both of my DC so far were smaller then my DH and I.

We'll see what this #3 is

I was 7lbs 11oz born a month late (my mom thinks they mis-calculated). DH was 10lbs! at my NT scan the tech said my baby was messuring 5 days ahead, my husband laughed and said i'm going to have a gigantor baby like him! I hope not, i'm only 5'0''.

I was 6lbs 5oz, DH was 6lbs 9oz. My son was 7lbs 6.5oz. So he was a little bigger but not by a drastic amount, and his L&D was relatively quick and easy.

I don't know how much I was at birth because I was adopted.

DH was 8lbs 6oz.

DS was 7lbs 10oz at 41 weeks

My dad was 6lbs. My mom was 6lbs. I was born right on my due date at 5 lbs 12 oz. My sister was 6 lbs 2 oz and 2 weeks early. My husband was born 9 lbs 2 oz. I am hoping my baby is closer to mine than my husbands..i cant imagine pushing out a 9 + lbs baby

I was 3 lbs 8 oz when I was born, but I was also 8 weeks premature.

I have no idea how much MH weighed when he was born. I'll have to ask my MIL. I'm more worried about both of our giant heads than that the baby will be too big.

im not as worried about birth weight as I am about the fact that my husband had a HUGE head when he was born. pleeeaasse dont let our baby have an enormous head!! lol

This is like us with weights. I was 7lbs 11oz and like 2 months late. Obviously they miscalculated my due date but my mom knows that I was still excessively late. She is a L&D nurse and said I came out looking like I was a few weeks old.

I was 5 pounds at a month early. My brother was less than 4 pounds but he barely made it into viable range when he was born. E was 4 lbs 8 oz born at 33 weeks. MH was about 8 pounds, born on time. I think we will end up with between 7.5 and 8.5 if I go full term.

I was 6 lbs, 14 oz. I forget DH's exact birthweight but it was between 7.5 and 8 lbs. DS was bigger than both of us at 8 lbs, 8 oz.

I was 7 pounds 11 ounces and DH was around the 8 pound mark too. My siblings and I have weights all over the chart.. I was first then my brother was almost 12 pounds, then my sister was around 5 pounds, and my youngest sister was almost 7 pounds... and we were all on time within a few days... I hope I don't have a monster baby like my brother..

I was 8lbs 14 oz, but I was 2.5 weeks overdue, I was the first. My brother and sister were slightly smaller but born via C-section at younger gestational ages than me. I ended up the smallest kid and smallest adult of the 3 of us.

DH was smaller than me something around 7lbs.

More alarming to me is that we both have big heads, like I seriously can never fit into a hat unless it's a man's size. Tongue Tied

I was two weeks late but only weighed about 8 lb 6 oz.

I will have to ask MIL about H - I do know he came out quick though. Under an hour.

11lbs is a big baby! Ouch! I was 7lb 9oz at 41 weeks. DH was also 7lb and some odd oz 40 weeks and a few days so I think that if this baby takes after us then it would be manageable.

I was 5 days late, and 7 lbs, 11 oz.

BF was 8 lbs 2 oz.

Hopefully ours weighs about this much! My siblings weighed over 9lbs each. So we'll see!

I was big as well (about 10lbs) and I shared this fear with DD. I was terrified.

But, she turned out being 8lbs even, which is not "huge" by any means. There are so many different factors, I don't know that you could even try to predict the size of your LO.

So, don't worry about it. Smile

I was 6lb 10 oz, and 21 inches long.

DH was 9lb 12oz. Both his brothers were in the 9lb range. His oldest brother had shoulder dystocia (sp?).

DS was 7lb 12 oz and 21 1/4in long and a week early. Hopefully this one is is similar.

I was 6lbs 6ozs born 1 week early. DH was around 2.5lbs born at 26 weeks. DD was 5lbs 10.5ozs born at 37 weeks. This one will most likely be small too. Both DD and this LO consistenly measured small on ultrasounds and DH and I aren't that big either.

I was 7 lbs even, born a week bit early. I was my mom's longest labor: 4 whopping whole hours.

My three sisters were each 6 something lbs. The shortest labor was 20 minutes (my mom thought she was having indigestion and didn't realize what was going on until my sister was practically crowning in the hospital parking lot).

DH and his brother were both 6 something lbs and both a few weeks early. (DH is now 6'4")

I'm quite petite and only 5'1". I really hope I don't have an 11 pound baby! I don't think my pelvis can handle that!

DH was 7 lbs. 8 oz. (DH is 6'7", I am 5'3")

My mom's kids were all around the same weight as me except my little brother who was 10 lbs. 7 oz. Scary!

My sister's kids were 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 9 lbs. 5 oz. A little big for me!!!

I am hoping for a 7 pound baby!
