when to stop cereal

For those of you that started cereal a little early (we started around 4 mo...per Dr.) when do you plan on stopping cereal or have you already? If so what is your babies schedule now, what does he/she eat through out the day and at each feeding and how many liquid feedings and solids?

    I gave all of my kids cereal until they were able to eat regular cereal - such as Cheerios for breakfast.  So probably 9 months to a year old or so.  I think around 6 months or so they were eating 4-5 times a day.  I would give them baby cereal in the morning and at night and then nurse them.  Then for lunch and supper I would give them baby food and then nurse.  I know it's recommended to nurse and then give baby food, but I always did it the other way around.

    I wouldn't stop giving your baby cereal if that is what you are already doing for breakfast.

    Lately, I've been mixing some fruit in with her oatmeal and she seems to be taking to it okay considering she's not big on fruits.

    As the PP said, I would just continue until they can start eating regular cereals.

    We hardly ever give just cereal.  We have some on hand to thicken her food if it's too watery.  Is your baby BF or FF, if FF, they really don't need the cereal for vitamins, if BF I would continue with a cereal/fruit veggie mix.  Right now, DD has rice/apple mix at her in-home around noon.  We give her a veggie or fruit around 5:30.  She has a bottle around 6ish and is asleep around 6:30.

    I'm planning on giving my LO cereal until he's about 1 years of age per the instructions on the back of the Gerber Cereal box.  Cereal is a great source of Iron for Baby and says they should have some everyday for about a year or so.

    What I do:  I put the cereal in my LO's bottles.  For breakfast, I give him oatmeal in the mornings, out of a bowl, with fruit mixed in.
