Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Do people on the bump have alcohol issues?

This is inspired by a post on 12-24 (ya. it's dead. i had to go somewhere)

Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant?

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO?

How many cocktails a week do you generally have?

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up?

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? yes

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? Cocktail, no, but wine, yes.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Yes, and now big DD refers to them as 'Goofy Juice' which she knows is for grown ups only.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? Depends on the week.  If we have company or go out, it might be quite a few.  If we're at home all week, maybe 1 or 2 cocktails....but most likely 2-3 glasses of wine.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up? I think there's a few for each category, but I think most in general are A-OK.

  • weird title. I would have a cocktail infront of LO. Why wouldn't I? No to everything else.

eta: less than one per week. Maybe 1-2 per month unless there is an occasion

  • Honestly, sometimes I wonder how much drinking really does happen by bumpies. There are times when I think perhaps people just say, oh yeah I'm drinking too, just to be cool.  So high school.  Maybe I'm wrong and we are a bunch of alkies!

  • Can I replace "Cocktail" with "Beer"????

Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? No

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? I have had beer in front of her. Oh and I have let her put the top of the bottle in her mouth while it's cold. No she has not gotten any beer from it.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? I may have one beer or one glass of wine a week. Or two. Depends on how the week is

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up? Depends on the time of day and my mood Angel

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? No. But I prefer "harder" drinks. If I enjoyed wine, I probably would have had a glass or two while later in pregnancy.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Yes, usually the kids are present. DS calls it "Mama Juice" or "Dada Juice." DH usually has a glass of beer or wine each night at or after dinner.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? Maybe 1 at home, more if we go out. I'm trying to lose weight now, so that will keep it down.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up? I didn't see the original post, but I'm guessing lighten up.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant?

No, but I had bad m/s for the first 20 weeks and took Zofran everyday until I gave birth.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO?

Um, already have.  Many in fact.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have?

0-10, depends on the week.  I had 6 Saturday (beers, not cocktails) from 4-11pm.  It all depends if we go out or not.  We never drink at home by ourselves.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up?

Lighten up, big time.  (Though I fully believe most of it is for show).

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? I had wine & beer, no hard stuff.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO?  Hell yes.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? 0 - 5+ depending on the week

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up?  I doubt very many need to "straighten up".  A few could definitely lighten up.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? Nope.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Yes.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? I don't usually drink hard liquor so I have somewhere between 1 and 3 beers or glasses of wine a week.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up? I don't care what others do.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant?

Yes, a little wine or beer here and there.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO?

    All the time.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have?

Around 5-10.  Maybe more if Grandma is babysitting.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up?

Stay up tight.  It keeps us all entertained.

It relaxes me and helps me sleep and sometimes instead of beer we have wine, which I'll have 1 glass at night. I don't really drink anything though until DD is asleep. • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant?  After DD was conceived but before I knew about it, I went wine tasting and drank a crapton of wine.  I had a quarter of a pint of beer on St. Patty's Day.  I was in 3rd tri.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO?  Probably, but not anytime soon.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have?  These days, zero.  I'm TTC and charting.  I'm not opposed at all to the "drink 'til it's pink" philosophy, I just hate how it effs up my temperatures.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up?  Lighten up.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? Never a cocktail but I had a glass of wine.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Sure. I already do every once in awhile.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? I don't drink every week so it's hard to say.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? I had a sip of wine once while I was pregnant.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Probably at some point.

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? Right now I'm not drinking at all. I'm still BF and I don't feel like figuring out how long I need to pump and dump or wait until I can BF DS without worrying about alcohol passing to him. I've gone this long without a drink, I can wait a couple of months longer.

Do you think most of the ladies on the bump need to straighten up or lighten up? In general I think most of the ladies are fine. There are definitely those that need to lighten up though.

  • Did you ever have a cocktail when you were pregnant? I was on a business trip in Napa Valley but didn't know I was pregnant yet.  And I had a few sips of wine here and there in the third tri.

Will you have a cocktail in front of your LO? Have and will again

How many cocktails a week do you generally have? Depends.  I actually sell wine and spirits for a living, so while I'm working I kind of drink a bit more...

Well I'll kind of join you on this.. I think the last time I had a drink was sometime in 2009.. I'm not opposed to drinking, but I just don't do it at home and since I never go out I don't either.. I am thinking about drinking beer to up my milk supply...  But I HATE the taste of it so I'm going to try fenugreek and TONZ of water first..

So what you hope her DH isn't partaking in is something other than what she posted about?  Other personal issues or not, I don't see what they have to do with my comment.  I'm rolling my eyes about having a drink or two at night being a problem.  I re-read her post and I see nothing in there that doesn't seem normal to me.  I'm responding to the topic at-hand and the information given in the thread.

She was talking about something other than the thread and you "jumped" on her, so to speak, because you thought she meant the idea of someone relaxing at night with a couple drinks was bad. She didn't mean that, she was talking about something else. I'm not being rude or anything, I'm saying this to you so you understand why you bothered her, that's all. Wink

Yes, I will drink in front of my children. Not daily or weekly but I have no intention of not drinking.

I go weeks/months without having a drink now. Before I had M I went to happy hour 3x a week.
