You know...we talk about a lot of things on here. Today was the first time I saw mention of professions, like NatKay being in accounting and Pina being a teacher. Just wondering what everyone's profession is. Please share whether you work outside the home, you're a SAHM, or something in between!
I'm the Finance Director of a local government agency. I never really thought accounting would be my "thing" but I enjoy what I do and it allows me the flexibility to go to my OB appointments without any problem.
Re: What is your profession?
I'm in admin for an accounting firm and hoping to return to school for the spring semester.
P.S. I can't wait for tax season to be over!!!
I am a Headline Editor for a financial news company you have probably heard of. I essentially read really really fast, and write the news in headline form so traders and other clients can make fast decisions on whether to buy/sell/what not based on our headlines.... much quicker for them than having to read through an entire press release.
I never ever ever thought I'd work in financial news. I don't even LIKE financial news, but I enjoy the nature of my job.
I also teach aerobics on the weekends. Not now, but I did and will again!

I work in Human Resources; but in Sept I'll become a SAHM.
Im part owner in an insurance agency. My father being the other partner! Gives me lots of flexibility for when I need to be home with DS or when I have dr appts too!
Elementary Art Teacher. I see about 800 students a week at 3 different schools. I LOVE it, but I have over an hour's commute, and I am REALLY hoping I can be a SAHM next year. I'm looking into getting my master's in Educational Technology (it's an online program)... but I'm not sure if I'm going to try to stay a SAHM until my kids are older/in school, or what.
Sometimes it's stressful trying to decide what to do... especially when it really depends on what happens (economy, our own finances, when we get pg again, etc).
Well, I work as a Patient Advocate right now. But that is just my job. My profession is "Soldier". I am a Combat Medic. I am the squad leader to a squad of 8 medical staff, and I am responsible for training them for our deployment to Afghanistan in May of 2012. When we get over there things will get really interesting.
In addition, I have a Bachelors degree in Forensic Anthropology, which I can't do anything with.
Molly - you are absolutely right. I love seeing all of the various industries that we work in. We are gonna be super-mommies!
Book keeper for USDA and coach volleyball. Not a fan of my book keeping job other than the paycheck and I have a pretty good boss. My degree is in Elem. Ed., but its nearly impossible to get a job around here unless you sub for a long time. Maybe once the kid(s) are in school I'll look into teaching again.
