Latona Martha Ann (goes by Martha/Marce/Mattie)

I think Latona is pretty but wouldn't use it. Martha is old lady and I don't like that some call her Marty (Hello, McFly!). I think Marce & Mattie are cute NNs. My dad called her Marce and Mattie is from my grandmother. It actually came from her initials. Ann is, IMO, necessary to balance the flow of her name but I never really liked the two MN thing. Although L. Martha Ann T.... looks super professional on her office door. Haha.

My maternal gma was Josephine Isabelle (German pronunciation). I love that FN. I used to love Isabelle/a until it recently grew fangs.

Mary Elizabeth. Classic, beautiful. But I've never felt the urge to use the name Mary (Elizabeth, yes, I could see myself choosing that one for a daughter).

Edited: Okay, this thread made me think of Mary in an entirely different light. I don't know... perhaps I *could* use it as a fn or mn for a daughter? I really do like my mom's name!

Joyce Katherine. I don't really like the name Joyce (she hated her name growing up). I like Katherine, it was my great grandmother's name which is why it is her middle name. I will likely use Katherine as a middle name for a girl.

My mother was born and raised in Israel... her fn was Ronit (Ro-neat) and her middle name was Ellen. (Her parents were from Poland and Germany, pre-WW2).

When she moved to America she started going by Ronnie because she was tired of people butchering her name.

If I lived in Israel I'd use Ronit for sure but I'm not a huge fan of Ronnie. I do LOVE Ellen though.

Jenae Joliene. I like Jenae, we used it for DD's middle name. I wish it had some great story behind it, but my grandma just picked it because she thought it sounded fancy and French ... of which she is neither (Irish and a farmer's wife). Wink

Linda Jean. My middle name is Jean named after her and I've always liked it. Linda is obviously a little dated, but I'd use it as a middle name to honor her if it fits, or maybe use Jean as a mn after both of us.

This made me giggle. I love Joliene but my uncle left my aunt for a Joliene who went by Jolie and I remember thinking "meh. She's not THAT pretty" and now I the name is stigmatized for me......too much story? Haha

Sarah - interesting! Yeah, go figure lol. My mom just goes by Mary. Her sister's name is Rosemary (I never noticed how matchy that was until I was an adult lol).

Elizabeth Ann, I love Elizabeth but I won't use it because we don't name children after living relatives.

Ann is also my middle name (As well as my oldest sister's and my grandmother's) and I hate it, so I won't be using that either.
